Chapter 6: Getting By

Alex POV

A month goes by, no Seth. I would've left by now, if we didn't have a band around our fingers, if we didn't have a family. And most importantly, id leave if he didn't imprint on me.

I love Seth with every cell in my body, but he always chooses to run from his problems. When he comes back, if he comes back, I would need to talk to him.

I'd tell him it isn't about us anymore, we have a tiny human now. Brinley is completely dependent on us and we need to be there for her.

over the month she grew, her cheeks chubby as ever. Her personality is to die for, shes completely sweet with a little sass. She always seems to know when I need a cuddle, it's almost as if she knows what I feel and think.

Embry on the other hand, never leaves. It drives me completely insane but it's also great at the same time. I told him he can stay here if he does chores, and helps by babysitting. He happily agreed, he cherishes every moment with Brinley. He speaks to her as if shes his world, he spoils her rotten.

"Alex, can we go to the beach?" Embry asked me.

"I suppose we could go," I sighed from my spot on the couch.

Brinley grabbed onto the side of the couch, pulling herself up.

"Dang girl," Embry joked watching Brinley so she doesn't fall, "You got the guns,"

I tried not to laugh, it was true. She had so much muscle it was crazy.

She giggled, throwing her little head back. She tried to step forward, her footsie pajamas slipped on the hardwood. She started to fall for the floor but by instinct, Embry caught her baby belly in one hand. He scooped her into his arms and threw her in the air.

"Slow down Brin," he tickled her belly, "You can't even crawl yet."

Yeah this was my life, my super baby was a miracle. She develops fast, mentally more than physically.

She reached her chubby arms to me, and I took her. I carried her into her room and Embry went into his.

I put a baby swimming suit on her small figure and added a white dress for the way there. I put my suit on as well, pulling on shorts and a grey top.

I laid Brinley on my shoulder, while I grabbed a few things like sunscreen and a cup with grape juice, her favorite.

Embry came in my room, with her bag packed and ready.

"Let's go," he said.

Brinley fell asleep on the walk to the beach, Embry whined the whole time because he wanted her to be awake.

"Embry if we wake her up she will be a living hell," I said.

"I don't care, she's never crabby for me," he puffed his chest out in pride.

"Fine, but don't come crying to me when she wont stop screaming,"

He threw his fists in the air and then tried to grab the limp baby from my grasp.

She jolted awake, with wide eyes. Clinging to my shirt and skin she left nail marks, kicking her little feet as she screamed.

I rised an eyebrow at Embry, clutching her and rocking her body.

Embry rolled his eyes and sat on a rock.

I sat by him and in no time she was out. We talked about plans for the future, and how we think Brinley will be as a teenager.

"Alex," I heard a voice from behind me.

I looked at Embry with wide scared eyes, and slowly looked behind me.
