Chapter 7: Making It Up

Alex POV

"Seth?" I blinked a few times.

"Why are you out here?" He asked.

I was taken back by his question, "Why can't I be?"

Something was different about him now, a new side of him I've never seen.

"Why would you let him?" he asked almost horrified.

"Let who do what?"

"Embry, she's just a baby, she has so much life to live. She already found her soul mate. I wanted her to learn from her dating mistakes and maybe have a normal life," he ranted.

"He can't help it Seth. I'm sure she will have experiences to learn from as well, we don't know how she will turn out. Maybe she won't even like him when she's older," Embry winced beside me.

"I'm sorry Seth, I'll try to back down. I hate to tear a family up like this." I could tell Embry was saddened by his actions, he didn't mean to do this.

Brinley started moving in my arms, her arms wrapping around my neck to cuddle closer.

"Are you staying?" I asked.

He shrugged his shoulders.

"I can't live like this Seth," tears formed in my eyes.

Embry tried to take Brinley from my arms to give us privacy, and so we didn't wake her.

They walked off to sit on a rock and I continued.

"It hurts so bad Seth, I'm doing this myself! The only help I have is Embry and you ask why I let him stay,"

"I just need time Alex, I don't want to do anything I'll regret," he explained.

"Good for you to realize that," I said, "But you need to grow up and take care of your family. It doesn't even feel like we're married anymore,"

I ran a shaky hand through my hair.

"I don't know if I'm ready to come home,"

"Then I don't know if I'm ready to do this anymore," I spit it out.

"What?" he asked surprised.

"Seth I want to break up,"
