Chapter 3

It’s saturday morning and my family is out. I don’t really know where, but I don’t really care either. So, I sit on the couch, about to have a Disney movie marathon. First on the agenda is The Lion King, and then I don’t know which one I’m going to watch after that.

I decide to get a bowl of cereal before I start the movie, so I get up and head to the kitchen. I open the pantry and pick out some random cereal, pour it in a bowl, and add milk and a spoon. I put the stuff away that I don’t need anymore and go back to the living room. Just as I sit down and grab the remote, my phone rings.

“Hello?” I say, answering the call without bothering to look at the caller ID.

“Hey, Al!”

“Brynna? What’s up?”

“Yep! It’s me, your dearest sister! Sarah told me she was taking Addie to her friend’s house and Dad is working, so I thought about inviting you over.” (Our parents are divorced, and Sarah is our stepmom and Addie’s mom.)

“I was gonna have a Disney moviethon.”

“Then have it at my place!” Brynna insists.

“Okay, Cheery-McGee, let me finish my cereal first and get dressed. Then, I’ll come over and we can watch the movies together.”

“Great, see you then!”

“Yup. see ya!” I hang up and start eating before the cereal gets soggy.

After I’m done getting dressed, I brush my teeth. Then, I grab my iPhone and purse before I head out the door, making sure to lock it behind me.

I unlock my car and get in, starting it up and turning on the radio. I pull out of my driveway and drive to my sister’s apartment.
