"Addison I'm sorry for what Zed said, but you know he didn't mean it." My sister released a sigh, shooting her friend a text. I took a sip of my hot chocolate, and nudged my sister with my shoe.

"You know he loves you more than the world. He was just frustrated." Addison picks up her own hot chocolate after setting down her phone, and takes a sip.

"It still hurts." She mumbles. I open my mouth to speak, but pause as the loud sound of scratching comes from outside our house. Sharing a look of confusion with my sister, I set down my hot chocolate and go to the front door.

"Zed? " I call, opening the front door. Peering out onto the dark street, I swallow a lump in my throat.

"Who is it [y/n]?" My sister whispered, coming up behind me. I turn to face her, but stop and face the door. There, resided a set of long claw scratches on our front door.

"Addison-" Whispering, I swallowed thickly, and pulled my sister closer to me. My sister inhales, and pushes past onto the front patio, and sets down her hot chocolate on our front chair.

"Addison we should-" taking a soft grasp on her sleeve, I stare at the wolf pack that was on our lawn. My sister faces them, and backs up closer to me for comfort.

"Come with us." Willa speaks. My sister's voice comes out worried, and she crosses her arms.

"What's so important?"

"You are." Wyatt responds. I lock eyes with Wyatt, and he gives me a subtle smirk. Addison swallows, and glances at me for reassurance, before returning her gaze to the wolves.

------

" Where are we going?" Addison questions, glancing around the woods in confusion. I kept a hold on my sister's hand as we walked, and the pack stopped, Wyatt and Willa turning to face us as Wynter spoke up.

" It's a wolf secret. If we told you we'd have to kill you." She retorts. Pulling Addison behind me, I slightly glare at Wynter. She glances at Willa, and panics.

"Too much? Too much, I knew it, sorry- Welcome!" Wynter counters, opening her arms. She then proceeds to look at Willa and Wyatt once more, who were shaking their heads.

"But not too welcome!" She growls. A coughing fit erupts from Wynter, and concerned, I grab her arm to support her.

"Are you okay?" My sister and I question in sync. Wynter swallows, and glances at my sister and I.

"My necklace is losing its charge.."

"Every day, more and more of our pack becomes sick because their moonstones lose their power. All our elders are too sick to travel which-" Willa interrupts Wyatt as he speaks.

"Which leaves taking care of the pack to us. To me." Willa sighs, and walks up to Wynter, to reassure her.

"You'll be fine, Wynter. I promise." Willa glares over to Wyatt.

"You better be right about this. We need to find the moonstone soon." Willa and Wynter head off, and I squeeze my sister's hand. My eyes catch Wyatt's, and we share a look, before he softly grabs my sister's arm, and smiles.

"Follow us, Addison. Please." He quickly glances at me, and heads off to catch up to Willa. Addison gives a squeeze on my hand, and we both head off, following the wolves into a cave.

---

Addison and I follow Wyatt as he leads us into a cave, and we both gaze around in astonishment.

"Welcome, to the wolf den!" Wynter exclaims excitedly.

"Wow." My sister mumbles.

"It's okay to be impressed." Wynter grins, showing her fangs in a friendly manner.
