For the following week, Jin helped Yumi cook all the meals in the kitchen since they had more free time and cooking made him happy. Yumi was more comfortable around him and felt like their relationship was growing closer as the days went by. However, J-Hope was concerned about Jungkook and his feelings towards Yumi so he chose to sit down and talk to him about it. He approached Jungkook's door and knocked.
"Hyung! What brings you to my room?" Jungkook asked with a smile.
"Can we talk inside?" J-Hope said as he pointed to the inside of the room.
"Sure hyung, come in."
Jungkook sat on the edge of his bed and J-Hope took a seat at the desk chair.
"Are you doing alright Jungkook?" J-Hope asked, concerned.
"I'm doing alright hyung. Have I given you the impression that something is wrong?"
"You've been silent during meal times quite a bit since Jin has helped Yumi in the kitchen."
"I just haven't had much to say during our meals lately because I've been thinking a lot about our new album and music. I'm fine."
"Are you sure it has nothing to do with your feelings for Yumi? Like, are you not even a bit jealous about how much time she's been spending with Jin?"
"Oh that," he said as he grabbed the back of his neck, "I mean I do like Yumi but I shouldn't be jealous of Jin hyung. I know how much he enjoys cooking and he's also very helpful and kind."
"Why don't you help them in the kitchen from time to time? You're a great cook too, you could get closer to her, and I'm sure they'd appreciate the help since they cook for eight people three times a day."
"I get so nervous around Yumi, I'd probably only get in the way."
"You won't know unless you try," J-Hope told him with a smile.
"I'll think about it."
Later that evening around dinner time, Jin and Yumi cooked together in the kitchen as usual. Jungkook thought about what J-Hope had told him and decided to go check out what they were doing in the kitchen to see their dynamic and then decide if he would help or not. He peeked his head enough to see what they were doing but not enough for them to notice him there.
"What are you doing?" J-Hope suddenly asked him.
"Ah!" Jungkook let out a soft scream, "You scared me hyung!"
"I repeat, what are you doing?"
"Just umm...relaxing against the wall."
"You were spying on them, weren't you?"
"Yes," he said with his head down.
"Go in there and help them! This is your chance!"
"No I don't want to!"
They began to bicker back and forth for a bit as J-Hope tried to push him into the kitchen so that he would help them while Jungkook pushed against him to avoid that. Yumi and Jin couldn't hear due to the music playing. After a while, J-Hope managed to push Jungkook in front of the kitchen's entrance. Yumi noticed him as she was rinsing a pan in the sink.
"Hi Jungkook! Did you come for a banana milk before dinner?" she kindly asked him.
Jungkook slightly eyed J-Hope as he stood at the kitchen's entrance.
"Tell her you want to help," he whispered.
Jungkook grew nervous as Yumi awaited his response.
"Do you want me to grab it for you?" Yumi asked.
