Raiden Uchiha woke up early to the birds chirping outside his window and sunlight pouring in, landing on his face. He groaned and blinked open his eyes while sitting up in bed; he looked over at his alarm clock, which read 6:45, causing him to panic.

"HUH!. Oh man, I'm going to be late!"

Raiden ran around his room, getting his clothes consisting of a black sleeveless shirt with a high collar and a pair of grey shorts, and his usual black sandals. He quickly went to his bathroom, brushed his teeth, and flattened his jet black hair. Once he was done, he rushed out of his room and ran past his mom in the kitchen.

"Bye, mom gotta go gonna be late." He shouted in such a hurry that she barely understood what he said.

Raiden sprinted out of his house and ran through the clan compound till he reached the gate. He skidded across the ground, turned in the Academy's direction, and sprinted there so fast that the civilians on the street just saw a black blur and a massive gust of wind that followed it. He ran through the Academy, slid to a stop in front of his classroom door, and opened it to see Iruka-sensei.

Iruka looked at Raiden and smiled slightly. "Raiden, right on time. Please take your seat."

"Yes, Iruka-sensei." Raiden bowed and then went to his seat, which was right next to his best friend, Sasuke Uchiha.

Sasuke was the younger brother of Itachi Uchiha, who happened to be Shisui's best friend, so it was natural that these two would be best friends. Sasuke leaned over to Raiden and whispered to him.

"Hey, Rai. Sleep in again?"

"Hey, Sasuke. And yeah, I had to run all the way here."

Iruka interrupted them. "Raiden. Sasuke. Pay attention to the lesson."

Both friends shut up and sat there listening to the lesson about the chakra natures.

After school, the two friends decided to train for a little while. Raiden and Sasuke arrived at the training ground and decided to have a taijutsu spar. The two friends seemed evenly matched until Raiden smirked and sped up his attacks allowing him to gain the upper hand. Sasuke was quickly overwhelmed by the speed Raiden was moving at and lost when Raiden stopped his fist a few centimeters in front of his face. Sasuke could feel the speed behind the punch as his hair ruffled from the wind the punch produced.

"Sugoi. That was so fast." Sasuke exclaimed in awe.

"Nii-san has been helping me increase my speed by making me wear weights on my arms and legs."

"Lucky Itachi is almost never around anymore, and the only thing he taught me was the Fireball Jutsu," Sasuke says, looking away, saddened.

"At least you can do it. I have trouble making one as big as yours. I barely met the standards for the Fireball Jutsu. Well, we should get home now; it's almost dark."

Raiden and Sasuke looked up at the sky to see that the sun had already gone down, and they started heading back to the Uchiha Compound.

They walked and talked about what they wanted to learn and do as shinobi. They approached the gates to the Uchiha Compound to find that they were open and the guards who were usually there were missing. They start to get worried and rush inside to see the place deserted.
