Chunin Exams Part 2

"We will begin the next stage of the Exam immediately." The Hokage said. As he explained the next stage, a sickly person appeared kneeling next to him.

"Hokage-sama, since I am the proctor for this test, please allow me to explain the next stage of the exams." The man asked. The Hokage nodded to him, and the sickly-looking man stood up, turning to the crowd of genin. 

"My name is Gekko Hayate, and I am the proctor of the next stage of the exams. Now, due to the number of people that have passed, we need to have a preliminary round to determine who is going to the finals. The selection process will be random, and the winner will move on to the finals. Killing is allowed, but you will stop attacking if I call the match; otherwise, you will be disqualified. If you wish to withdraw now, it will not affect your team." A hand was raised from the crowd, revealing that Kabuto had decided to withdraw from the preliminaries.

(All the fights are the same as Canon)

"Now, due to there being an extra person, we will have a three-way fight between Choji Akimichi, Dosu Kinuta, and Raiden Uchiha. Will all three please come down." Hayate said.

Dosu jumped down from the balcony to the floor, eager to fight; Raiden also jumped down. Dosu then made a stupid move and called Choji fat. This made Choji mad, and he jumped down onto the floor; Hayate seeing that Choji was ready to fight, initiated the match. Raiden just smirked and jumped away as he let Choji and Dosu fight it out.

Once Dosu took out Choji, Raiden appeared behind Dosu and knocked him out, with him being declared the winner even though he did nothing during the fight.

After the fight was over and the injured genin were taken away by the medical team, all the genin who won were called back down to the arena floor. Once all the genin arrived on the arena floor, they were all lined up side-by-side and were asked to draw a random number from a bag. 

Naruto - 1

Shino - 5

Shikamaru - 8

Neji - 2

Sasuke - 3

Kankuro - 6

Temari - 7

Gaara - 4

Raiden - 9

Once the numbers had been drawn, they were matched up for the finals.

Round 1: Naruto vs Neji

Round 2: Sasuke vs Gaara

Round 3: Shino vs Kankuro

Round 4: Temari vs Shikamaru

Round 5: Raiden vs Round 1 Winner

They now had one month to prepare and train for the finals.

~Later~

Raiden was now at the hospital visiting Sasuke as he was recovering from his curse mark sealing. He'd been visiting when Kakashi pulled him to the side to explain that he couldn't train Raiden because he needed to train Sasuke for the finals since he wasn't ready to fight Gaara yet. Raiden understood and made plans to find Yugao to see if she would train him. However, before Kakashi left, he gave Raiden some scrolls on earth jutsu to learn.

After he left the hospital, Raiden went to find Yugao so that she could train him. He found her at their favorite tea shop, and she agreed to train him.

For the next few weeks, Yugao had Raiden learn more kenjutsu techniques, and thanks to Raiden's shadow clones, he was also able to work on Jutsu. Raiden had learned Kenjutsu, several earth Jutsu, stealth techniques, and summoning.
