It's been four years since Raiden met Yugao and became her student. Since then, Raiden has trained almost every day with Yugao in the art of kenjutsu. Yugao not only trained him in kenjutsu, but she also trained him in chakra control, taijutsu, elemental affinity, control, and Jutsu.

~(Flashback 2 years)~

Raiden approached the training ground where Yu-sensei would be, only to find she wasn't there yet.

'Where is she? Yu-sensei is always on time.'

Not even a moment after, he thought that he felt the presence of someone fast approaching, making him pull out his sword, a gift from Yugao, to block an overhead strike. Out of reflex Rai sent a lightning-fast kick at his opponent, hoping to gain some distance to see who his enemy was. The kick connected with the mysterious figure sending them skidding back, allowing Rai to see that it was Yu-sensei.

"Excellent block Raiden. You have progressed far in only two years of training, and I couldn't be prouder. That's why today we are doing something new." She said while putting away her sword and reaching back into her weapons pouch. Raiden also put away his sword, excited that he would be learning something new.

"Today, we will be testing your elemental affinity and working on elemental Jutsu." She said while pulling out a piece of paper. Raiden was smiling an actual genuine smile; over the years, he had grown close to Yugao. She was the only person he was truly comfortable being around.

"This Raiden is called chakra paper. You channel your chakra into it, and it will reveal your elemental affinity or affinities, although it is rare to have more than one at your age. The paper will burn for fire, soak for water, crinkle for lightning, split for wind, and crumble for earth." As she finished her explanation, she handed the paper to Raiden. Yugao liked training Raiden; he took to kenjutsu like a fish to water. He didn't complain and did everything she told him to do without fail.

Raiden grabbed the chakra paper and channeled some chakra into it, and the results shocked both student and teacher.

Raiden's paper immediately crinkled heavily and started sending out sparks of electricity, and then one corner of the paper became soaked, and another corner crumbled.

"Incredible at such a young age, you already have three affinities, lightning being your main one and a quite high affinity for it, I might add, then you have water and earth. I had my suspicions before, but this confirms it." Yugao says with a proud smile on her face looking at Raiden's shocked face.

"So what now, Yu-sensei?" Raiden asked with a slight smile on his face.

"Now we work on your lightning chakra control, advanced kenjutsu, and normal chakra control. I want you to have great control over your lightning affinity before doing any Jutsu."

So for the next few weeks, that's what they did. Raiden worked on his lightning chakra control which came surprisingly easy to him. The first exercise involved making a leaf crinkle, and he finished that in 3 days. The second exercise was to channel electricity through a boulder to make a steady current; this took him one week since it was difficult to channel electricity through a rock. The third exercise was to create a controlled chain of lightning between your pointer fingers. Raiden took this a step forward and made a stable chain of lightning between all his fingers. This took him two weeks to complete.

Once he was done with his exercises, Yugao taught him how to channel lightning chakra through his sword, increasing the cutting power. Raiden tested this by cutting through a giant boulder on the edge of the training grounds. Unfortunately, the blade broke because of all the lightning chakra channeled through it.
