Chapter 9 Fighting Fire

Sigma: Agent Maine, isn't that the soldier from the freeway? The one that shot you in the throat.

Maine: *hisses*

Sigma: I thought so. Sic 'em.

The Freelancer's tank had entered the fray! Girlie immediately shot at him with her dual magnums, Maine dashed forward while dodging! Guns charged him only to get launched back by a powerful right hook to the chest, being slammed into Girlie! As they recovered York appeared behind Wash and his shipping container, Sigma then materializing in front of them.

Sigma: Hello Gentlemen.

York: Hey Sig? You sure he's good to fight so soon? He was hurt pretty bad.

Sigma: As compared to whom, Agent York? You two don't look so good yourselves.

Delta then appeared.

Sigma: Hello brother.

Delta: Sigma, protocol dictates that AI units are not to communicate directly with each other-

Sigma: Protocol is just another way of saying rules. Remember what the Director says, there are no rules on the battlefield.

He appeared behind Delta and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Sigma: Besides, we AI should really stick together. Excuse me, I'll be right back.

Sigma vanished.

York: I'll be honest. That one kind of gives me the creeps.

Washington: Yeah, I hear ya. C'mon, let's move.

Back in the fight, Girlie began to stand.

Carolina: Well, hello. What a pleasure to see you again.

Before firing her Plasma Rifles, she was forced to dodge a cleave from Demo-man, his robot arm crushing one her plasma rifles! She raised the other, but a machete flew towards it! Before the weapon was destroyed, Agent South Carolina caught its hilt.

Jason: And I just ruined your one liner.

Girlie growled and charged him with two machetes, both Carolinas jumped back before she twirled and slashed, Jason cleaving the other and the two clashing, Girlie being pushed back! Before she could recover, Agent Hawaii swooped in and blitzed her with a punch to the face! She quickly turned as the ODST swung her blades, the crimson freelancer leaning back  before hopping aside! Hawaii then uppercut her and struck her side before shoving her shoulder, turning Girlie around for Jason to cut down! She quickly raised her blades and negated his swing before elbowing Hawaii back! Meanwhile, Carolina was firing at Demo-man, the ODST circling around her before closing in and punching her Plasma Rifle away!  He tried to uppercut her, but she flipped back as he gave chase! Guns finally recovered from Maine punch, turning to see his assailant cracking his knuckles. The Insurrectionist quickly stood and threw a left hook, his hand being caught by Maine, who twisted his arm and brought him to his knees! Pulling his arm back, the Freelancer thrusted it into Guns's face, snapping the man's neck and tearing his helmet from his head. . . Maine looked up to see North Carolina flipping Demo-man on a rooftop, deciding to let Hawaii and South Carolina deal with Girlie. Speaking of, Jason's blade rose up before slamming down to deflect two slashed before spinning to slash horizontally, Girlie jumping back and getting rammed into by Hawaii! Both rolling to their feet, the crimson freelancer dropped and swept the ODST's legs out and let Jason hop over herself and cleave down on their enemy! Girlie's legs rose and flipped Jason over her before rolling aside to dodge Hawaii's punch! The aqua freelancer threw his machete forward! The ODST crossed her machetes and cut up, sending the third into the air! Hawaii leaped up and cut, cleaving down on the Insurrectionist, who was forced to jump back! Girlie cut down, but the crimson freelancer parried with an up slash and made her recoil! The ODST barely blocked Hawaii's two quick slashed before the freelancer twirled and slashed up before twirling twice more! The first she cut down, and the final she thrusts the blade into the crossed blades of the Insurrectionist, pushing her back! Jason then pounced on the enemy, his combat knife in hand, as Ruby dashed forward! Girlie quickly raised both of her weapons and the three entered a blade lock! Atop the roof, Demo-man threw two punches at Carolina, the leader negating both before drop kicking them cybernetically enhanced man back! Springing onto her feet, Carolina drew her shock baton! The two charges each other and Demo-man cleaved his arm down, Carolina redirecting it with her own before slamming the baton into his chest twice before blitzing him and kicking him in the back! Maine slid past him and latched onto the ODST from behind, suplexing him into the ground!
