The next morning, I quickly get myself ready for school; choosing to ignore the broken window in the loft. We had given Lydia and Allison a ride home before Stiles had dropped me off. I chose the parking space closest to the front, getting there around the same time as Scott and Stiles.

"You wanna ask Derek for help? Why? Why?" Stiles asks when Scott announces that he wants to seek my brother for help with the tattoo he had gotten.

I had blow torched my smaller one when I got home, so it was proudly showing on my arm in my short-sleeved shirt.

"He's got the triskele tattooed on his back. So there has to be a way to do it without healing, right?"

"Okay, yeah, but still, doesn't he have his hands a little full?" Stiles motions to the missing posters for Boyd and Erika.

"Why didn't you just ask me for help?" I question, adjusting my backpack straps so they weren't as tight on my shoulders. The two of them weren't listening, so I turn to search for Lydia and Allison. Both of them standing in front of the brunette's locker, admiring the new boys coming into school.

"You mean fresh boys," Allison corrects her as she puts away folders.

"Lydia, they're fourteen," I roll my eyes as I approach them.

She shakes her head, "Eh, some are more mature than others."

"You know, it's okay to be single. Focus on yourself for a little while, work on becoming a better person," Allison states unconvincingly.

Lydia scoffs, "Allison, I love you. So if you need to do that thing where we talk about me and pretend like we're not actually talking about you, it's totally fine. But I don't want a boyfriend. I want a distraction."

Rolling my eyes once more, I answer a quick text from Brett before looking up to see Lydia eyeing a pair of twins walking down the hallway. They were clad in dark jeans and leather jackets, both holding their respective motorcycle helmets.

"Brothers?" Allison questions, leaning against her now closed locker.

"Twins," Lydia concludes.

"Wow, look at that! One for each of you," I laugh, stuffing my hands into the pockets of my jacket. Something about the twins rubbed me the wrong way and I was going to figure out what. The bell rings and the three of us go our separate ways to our classes, eventually meeting up again in English.

Everyone's phones buzz and ring as we all collectively receive a text message at the same time while finding our seats. Allison had awkwardly sat in front of Scott and I found myself in front of Stiles next to her.

"The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of an immense darkness," a brunette in tan heels quoted as she entered the room, our new teacher, "This is the last line of the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class. Phones off, everyone."

I leave my phone on silent and let it rest in my lap for the remainder of the class. Worksheets had been passed out and our teacher turned to write something on the board. Seconds later my phone lights up with a text from Scott's mom.

Hospital ASAP Isaac is here and hurt badly!

I raise my hand, "Um, excuse me. May I go to the bathroom?"

"Don't forget your hall pass."

"Thank you."

Hurriedly, I throw my things into my backpack and rush into the hallway. Almost running into someone from the office who was making their way toward the classroom I just left. I could hear them inform her that Scott's mom had called.
