Beomgyu's eyes shot open as he felt himself fall to the wooden floor, a sharp pain rocketing down his back as he attempted to process what was happening. After such an abrupt awakening, he felt utterly terrified as he saw a middle-aged woman towering over him, giving him a sharp glare. He had never seen her in his entire life, and with that knowledge, he backed away from the stranger who had just shoved him off of the couch which he had been peacefully sleeping on just moments prior.
"Taehyun!" She hissed, pulling the half-awake boy up from the sofa by his wrist, "explain what is going on this instant!"
The sight of Beomgyu on the floor and his infuriated mother awoke Taehyun from his sleepy state of mind, "Mom, w-what are you—"
"Answer me!" She snapped, causing Taehyun to cower underneath her stare, "tell me why you and this boy were all over each other when I walked through the door!"
"Mom, w-we were just sleeping, there really isn't anything else going on, I swear," Taehyun could barely mutter the words out, afraid of what his mother would say in return.
"Do you think I'm an idiot?" She released Taehyun from her grip, clenching her teeth in annoyance.
Taehyun couldn't hold eye contact with her, even her voice made him feel as though he couldn't speak, "n-no, Mom, we're just friends—"
"Do not lie to me! I saw the way you two were embracing each other, it was sickening." Her face twisted into disgust, a revolted grimace on her lips.
"Please Mom, don't do this," Taehyun pleaded, his hands clasped together as he begged for her mercy.
"Do you think I will sit here and let this boy use you? Change you?" She crossed her arms, "How could you let him turn you into this?"
"Turn into what?"
"Must you make me say it?" She sighed, shaking her head in disappointment, "a homosexual! It is completely unnatural for two men to be in a relationship, and this boy has brainwashed you!"
Taehyun's neverending anger grew as his mother continued to spout more lies every time she spoke. He couldn't help the words from exploding as he replied, "you don't know even anything about him! And he didn't change me or brainwash me!"
"That is enough! You are grounded!" She then turned her attention to Beomgyu, who had managed to stand up even during the heated argument. Taehyun's mother pointed a long nail at the brunette, her tone still as harsh and unwavering as it was before, "and you! Get out of my home! I never want to see you speaking with my son ever again! Do you understand?"
Beomgyu fought back the tears that threatened to fall, balling his hands into fists to hide how much he was shaking, "I... I'm—I'll leave..."
"Beomgyu, wait, no!" Taehyun couldn't help the words that fell from his mouth, and before he knew it he felt his hand grab Beomgyu's in the same instant.
"Get your hands off of him," Taehyun's mother growled, pulling the blonde away, "he's ruining you!"
Their hands were forcefully pulled apart, with Taehyun's mother once again pressuring Beomgyu to make his exit. He slowly made his way to the front door, and with one final glance, he connected his eyes with Taehyun's—a devastated expression on each of their faces. Beomgyu felt a tear roll down his cheek as he closed the door behind him, feeling as though his heart had broken into a million pieces.

"And you haven't seen him since?" Yeonjun asked, watching as Beomgyu absentmindedly scratched shapes into his styrofoam tray with his plastic spoon.
"No, nobody has Yeonjun," Beomgyu sighed, placing his elbow onto the table and resting his head in his palms, "he hasn't been to school for days, but... You guys already know that."
"Shouldn't we check on him though? Like, at least send him a text or something?" Soobin suggested, trying his best to find a solution to the problem.
"I tried that," Huening Kai mentioned, showing the others his phone screen which displayed dozens of attempted calls to Taehyun's number—none of which had been answered, "it's like he fell off the face of the Earth."
"We can't just let his Mom get away with this!" Yeonjun pouted his lips in frustration, "just because Taehyun has a boyfriend doesn't mean she can lock him away for the rest of his life."
"What are we supposed to do about it though?" Beomgyu's tone was completely hopeless, "if his Mom ever sees me again, I don't even want to imagine what she'll do."
"We're going to figure out a way to get him back," Yeonjun reassured him, bringing his gloomy friend into a hug, "I promise."
Unfortunately, the bell had rung, signifying that lunch had ended. The four friends got up from their seats rather sorrowfully, Beomgyu appearing the most downcast of all. Yeonjun pulled the brunette back into a hug one last time before they all went their separate ways to their respective classes. Although, Beomgyu could barely focus, constantly eyeing the doorway in hopes that Taehyun might possibly walk through it, and everything would be okay... But, no matter how many times he would glance in that direction, Taehyun never appeared in the classroom.
Beomgyu was so fed up with Taehyun's mother, he couldn't even think of anything else besides how to get him away from his awful Mom. Although every solution he thought of seemed overtop and drastic, the thoughts of reuniting with his boyfriend knew of no bounds. As he continued to stare at the doorway, finally an idea clicked in his head...
Discreetly taking his phone out of his pocket, he began texting the group chat made by his friends, explaining his plan to them. Although it seemed hasty, he was going to get Taehyun back—no matter what it would take.
