TW: mentions of fire
Kiara's POV
I dropped to my knees as I pressed my hand to my forehead, the smile on my face only widening.
Everyone around me was cheering and Boss was clearly very excited. She ran forward to Eliza and started scooping up the blood in her hands.
"CHEERS TO KIARA, OUR NEW ASSASSIN #1!" Boss shouted, throwing the blood into the air, showering all of us in droplets of blood.
I closed my eyes and lifted my face happily to the liquid.
I opened my eyes again and got to my feet.
Yes, becoming Assassin #1 means that I lose my identity. I will now be referred to as Assassin #1 until I take Butler's place, but it means I get to take part in more games. More missions. More fun. It means I get access to more weapons and more information only the higher ups get.
The way this place works is interesting. Boss is the leader right now, but when Butler feels ready, he will kill her and become Boss. Then I become Butler. The Butler's job is to train new recruits, and help everyone practice. They know all the secrets and information. They get to plan a lot. They make sure no one gets caught. Boss just does whatever she feels like doing. She usually tells Butler what she feels like doing and then has him plan it out for her. She gets to pick her victims, of course. People like Nana, Chef, and the Weaponists don't get replaced or move ranks unless they die. Then we find a replacement, usually a recruit who has less killing or physical ability. We all are aware that the only way to move ranks here is to kill Boss. And based off of everything, only Butler really has the potential to kill Boss. And Boss is just waiting for him to do it. Because if you are prepared to kill, you must be prepared to die. So everyone here, even Boss, is waiting for Butler to make his move so that I could be Butler. In my opinion, Butler is even more fun than Boss. You get to do all the fun stuff that way. We of course have a building where we stay regularly, but we're always moving around for missions so we can truly enjoy everything.
I smiled as I took a deep breath. "My name is now Assassin #1."
I laughed with everyone around me as I tucked my knife away. "This is what I was born for."
Boss pulled me in for a hug. "This was so fun! Let's do it again sometime soon! You get to be Traitor again!"
I hugged Boss back, Eliza's blood smearing all over both of us.
Butler looked to Nana and nodded. It's time to evacuate.
Boss hopped up and down as Nana and Butler ushered everyone out of the room to collect what was needed for this evacuation.
I turned to Boss and crouched down in my heels. "What's the plan for evacuation and cover up this time, Boss?"
Boss giggled as she clapped excitedly. "Arson!"
Excitement filled me up to the brim. "I've never done that before! This will be so exciting!"
Boss nodded. "Let's go back to your office and collect everything we'll need back at base."
I nodded and crouched low so that she could jump onto my back. I piggybacked her back to my office as she giggled excitedly for the next step of the plan.
Dana is like a little sister to me, but I can't wait for her to die. We're all one big family but we all hope for the one we love and cherish the most to die. It's kind of odd but it's how we live. And we're all okay with it. We're all prepared to die.
I dropped Dana down on the couch with a smile as she laughed and I opened the drawer in my desk, pulling out the files and keys and a few pocket weapons I had hidden in there.
