Anyway, thank you all for going with the flow of it all and I hope you enjoy! PS- I will trying to get into an updating routine so hopefully I'll update more and more :)
Chapter 15
I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling trying to wake up. My mind was a blank canvas and I had no paint.
Thankfully it didn't last too long because my phone buzzed next to me. I grabbed it and checked the message, it was from Tyler.---can u hang today?
Sure! when?-------
----does after school work?
---where do u want me to meet you?
----just by the bike racks, we could go grab a smoothie
---I'll be there!
------- :)
I set down my phone and smiled. Okay, so maybe I was going on dates with him. But we were just friends and friends can grab smoothies with friends even if they are guys.
. . . . . .
"Have you ever noticed how pretty Tyler's eyes are?" I asked Willow during art. I was staring at the wall blankly, not focusing on the drawing we were supposed to be doing.
"No, but I guess they're nice." Willow replied."Or how nice his hair is?"
Willow set down her pencil and turned my head towards her.
"Girl what is with you?! You have a major case of crushitis.""What? No I don't!"
She gave me the 'really' look.
"Seriously Elsie your obsessed with the guy!"
"I'm not obsessed with him," I mumbled.
"Well maybe not obsessed, obsessed but you definetly like him."
"We're just friends Willow."
"Then how come you were just talking about how pretty his hair and eyes were?"
She had a point there. I guess I did kinda like Tyler, a lot.
"You should just kiss him already!" Willow teased.
I lightly slapped her on the arm. "Dude no! I wouldn't have even known what to do!"
"Elsie you're a junior in high school! Don't tell me you've never had your first kiss before!"
I looked at her blatantly. "You of all people should know that I have never been kissed before!"
"Oh I did know for the most part but I thought that you would've already had one."
"Well I don't happen to be a gorgeous dancer, gymnast and cheerleader like you." I said.
"Okay first of all I'm only a cheerleader for half of the season and dance the other. And second of all, I have never been kissed before!"
"Remember 6th grade with Timmy Templeton?" I asked.
"You mean T.T?"
I nodded.
"Oh yeah...""And he said you were the most beautiful girl in the world." I reminded her.
"Elsie and Willow is there something you'd like to share with me?" our art teacher called out.
Willow and I looked at each other hesitantly.
"Uh, I was just telling Willow what a beautiful drawing she did." I said.
"I see, well just keep the talking down to a minimum okay?"
Willow and I both nodded.
I hate it when I get called out in class.
. . . . .
After school I met Tyler out by the bike racks. I was caught off guard a bit when he gave me a huge hug."I'm glad you could make it!" he exclaimed.
"There's no place I'd rather be right now." I said cheerfully. When we got to the Jamba Juice down the street from the school just like a sweet, little gentlemen, Tyler opened the door and ushered me inside. I ordered a blueberry pomegranate smoothie while Tyler ordered a mango banana. He payed for both of them and sat at a table outside. We talked a bit about our English project and then there was an awkward moment of silence where we just enjoyed our smoothies. Which then resulted in a very funny silent staring contest where in the end we both cracked up laughing when Tyler snorted and smoothie came out his nose.
As we through away our cups I pulled out my phone and checked the time.
"Shoot!" I exclaimed.
"What is it?" Tyler asked.
"Well I promised my mom I'd be home when she left so I could watch Annabelle."
"Isn't that your sister?" he asked.
I nodded. "She's more like a bossy older sister than a little one."
"Im sure it can't be that bad." Tyler said. "Do you want me to head home?"
"Oh no you can come with me. But I'll need some help cooking dinner if you don't mind."
"I love cooking!" he exclaimed. "You know I once baked an eclair cake."
"Really?" This was news to me. And besides, guys who can cook? Cute!
"Yeah, my house almost caught in fire."
Now that made more sense.
. . . . .
When we got to my house mom had already left. She had scribbled a note saying: I'm sorry I left so early but here was an emergency. Just look in the cookbook for something to make.
As Tyler and I flipped through the pages of our cookbooks Annabelle came strolling down the stairs in shorts and a T-shirt while carrying an empty soda bottle. She didn't seem to notice us.
"Hey Anna." I muttered.
"Hey." she replied.
"Hi Annabelle!" Tyler greeted.
"Hi... wait what?!" she gasped.
Anna dropped her new can of sprite in shock. Embarrassed, she picked it up and ran up the stairs.
"Man, do I really give that effect?" Tyler moaned.
"Absolutely not, she's just weird like that. I'll go see what's wrong." I said.
I ran up the stairs to find Anna sitting on the floor, clutching her Sprite to her chest.
"What the heck was that all about?" I whisper shouted.
"Why was Tyler in our kitchen?"
"We were just hanging out. Wait, how do you know who Tyler is?"
"Um, my friends and I may or may not have stolen your yearbook to look at all the cute guys and stalk them on Instagram." she hesitated.
"Seriously?! He is cute but you're too young! Why do you and your friends have to be so stupid?" I groaned.
"Hey don't blame me for liking him! He can not see me like this! He's too adorable! I'm surprised he's even here."
"Why you little!"
I was about to sock her in the arm when Tyler called from downstairs.
"Elsie I think I found the perfect meal!"
"Ok I'll be down in a minute!" I called back.
Anna leaned against the wall smugly and opened her sprite.
"So, why is Tyler here?" she asked slyly.
"I already told you! We're just hanging out."
"Since when did you to become friends?"
"Like, last week or something. We're doing our English project together."
"Sure, sure."
"Will you just shut up? I need to make dinner!"
"What ever you say your highness." she said while taking a sarcastic bow.
"That's it!" I shouted and kicked her in the leg. Not too hard but it let her know I was mad.
Before she could get me I ran back down the stairs and slid into the kitchen.
"So I'm cute huh?" Tyler asked, grinning smugly.
"To my stupid sister you are." I muttered.
"No I'm pretty sure I heard you say it." he said poking my arm.
"Okay fine! Tyler you are a cute, adorable man." I said.
I instantly mentally slapped myself. Why on earth did I say that?!
I turned around to find him giggling.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh nothing. I just didn't think you'd call me a man!"
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." I laughed.
From the corner of my eye I could see Tyler grinning from ear to ear.Author's note... AGAIN:
so i know this chapter is kinda short but don't worry, they'll be longer, i promise! i just have a bad case of procrastination which often sparks writers block.
for my updating schedule i think that sundays, saterdays and maybe wednsdays and fridays will work. obviously i won't be updating on all of those days but those are the days i'm most free. so comment telling me what days you think i should do.
thanks!
