{Chapter 10}

The alarm clock blared, waking the sleeping couple almost instantly.  Adam rolled to his side, looking Shiro directly in the eyes. 

"Morning," Adam mumbled, smiling with tiered eyes. Shiro smiled back, rubbing his eyes and breathing deeply. "How'd you sleep?" Shiro asked while Adam grabbed his glasses. "Fine. I'm, still tired though." Shiro laughed.  

"You say that every morning." 

"Well maybe, if someone would let me sleep in just ten more minutes, I wouldn't be so tired." Adam dragged out the word 'just' in an attempt that Shiro would feel guilty and let him sleep. "Baby, even when I tell you to sleep in, you get up by yourself."  Adam wanted to say something back but was left defeated. For the first time in a long time, Shiro was right. No matter what, Adam will never sleep in. 

"Admit it! I'm right!" Shiro exclaimed proudly, smiling. Adam smacked him in the face with a pillow. "Don't let it get to your head ass face." Adam laughed at his own remark. Shiro's smiled. "You're so cute when you laugh." Adam blushed uncontrollably. "Don't you have work in like an hour? You need to get ready, or you'll be late!" Shiro rolled his eyes. "You're no fun." 

It took Shiro around thirty minutes to get ready, and in those thirty minutes, Adam would go into Hope's room trying to get her up for school.  Adam starts by just turning on the lights, then after a few minutes, he starts shaking her awake. After a few minutes of shaking, Hope sat up with an angry look on her face. "Papa, that's not nice!" Hope whined, laying back down, trying to pull her blanket back over her head. Adam took the blanket from her, causing her to pout again. "I know you want to go back to sleep, love, but you've got to go to school. You like school, remember?" Hope loved going to school, but she really hated getting up in the morning. 

"Will you get me after school?" Hope asked quietly. "Of course, love. Papa's not working this week, so I can be with you every day after school." After hearing that, Hope was super cooperative all morning long. She was dressed and ready in a record time of twenty minutes. Hope didn't realize how big a deal it was, that Adam was taking an entire week off.  Adam taught a high school AP Spanish class, and an AP language class, meaning, no one was certified to teach his classes. Regardless, what Hope said the other day really hurt him. The idea that he was never home or there for Hope, was too much for him. 

Adam poured two bowls of cereal for Hope and Shiro. The two ate while Adam went and got dressed. When Adam came back, he found Shiro with an empty bowl on his head and Hope laughing hysterically. 

"I would ask, but I don't think I want to know." Adam smiled. "Maybe it's for the best that Hope and I keep it between us anyways." Hope nodded, laughing. "Well, I think it's time for Hope and me to get going." Shiro nodded, taking the bowl off his head and getting up. "Yeah, I think it's time for me to head out too." Shiro walked to the door with Adam. "I love you," Shiro said, giving Adam a quick goodbye kiss. "I love you too, dork," Adam said pulling Shiro in for a more passionate kiss. "Ewww! Daddies, that's yucky!"Hope stuck her tongue out. Adam rolled his eyes, smiling. 

"Yeah yeah. Let's go. Bye baby!" Adam said one more time before carrying Hope to the car. Shiro waved, getting in his car. Adam put Hope into her car seat and drove away.
