Drina was throwing daggers at the pictures in her wall, as she was all the while, fiercely trying to just keep her emotions altogether out of her way, as she attempts and fails.
To no one's shock or her own, to just dagger her way out of the emotional wreck of a train that was coming all at her, full-speed and with no signs of ever stopping any time soon.
She swung her hand quickly at the door and it opened, as Loki promptly fell into the room directly on his face.
"Ow." He muttered into the floorboards and she turned her back to him, to continue throwing daggers that she kept pulling out of thin air at the posters and pictures. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked and she snorted.
"About what, Loki? I am perfectly fine." She said emotionlessly, as her final dagger thuds into the wall and to both of their shocks, she had missed a target.
"No, no you're not." He said and sat down next to her, as Drina fiddled a bit with the hilts of a matching pair of swords that Týr had given her the last year ago. "Talk to me." He said, as she sighed.
"Loss is inevitable in war, because that is what will happen. But, if you had a solemn duty that you swore to perform, but took an off-day and the men were dead when you returned... I mean, it was inside of Asgard! They should not have perished in the lands of the Allfather!" She snapped and her eyes were filling with her tears, as she lowered her head again.
"I understand. As the goddess of Justice, one of the gods of War and an everlasting advocate for the people, it must be terribly hard for you to just let it all go."
Loki murmured to her quietly and when his arms went around her for a comforting hug, Drina didn't hit him at all.
That good action only would have been a good solid surprise, to them both at the moment, if they had not known each other at least for one hundred or so years by now at least.
"When was the last time I got to hug you, without getting hit in any form of way?" Loki mumbled and Drina rolled her eyes.
"Loki Odinson, I'm going to hit you now!" She said and at the look on her face, Loki performed a rather clearly undignified maneuver to get away out of her reach, causing her to chuckle at his expression. "Kidding." She said, as he sighed in noticeable relief. "Is there something bothering you?" She asked and he made a face, that made her laugh a little bit.
"Every time I come to see if you are doing all right, you are the one who always ended up asking me, the hard questions. Why?" Loki asked and she shrugged her shoulders a little bit, as he sat next to her again. "You can read me like an open book." It was a truthful statement this time, not a question.
"That I can. Does it bother you? If it does, then I am sorry, because I can't shut it off. I can read everybody, well, except for the Allfather." She said and he looked over at her with one of his eyebrows raised. "What?" She asked.
"Is it true that you can tell whether someone is innocent or guilty, by just looking through their memories?" He asked and she dropped her head down slightly, as she fidgeted with her fingers, tapping them on her knees a bit.
"Yes, I can. I would rather not, but if I need to or if your father would ever at a moment command me to do so, then I would." She said and he nodded a bit at her words.
"Can your brother--"
"No." Drina interrupted and Loki raised his eyebrows a bit in confusion at the sudden sharp tone in her vocals and she sighed. "I'm sorry, I am just so sick and tired, of being compared with my brother. I can name at least a good forty examples right now, from my mother alone, today." She stated and Loki shakes his head.
"I'm sorry." He said and she looked over at him, and she hugged him and he looked surprised.
"No, I'm sorry. I keep unleashing all my rage at my mother onto you, and it isn't fair for me to do so. I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of it." She mumbled a bit, as he laughed quietly.
"You are looking at the Prince of unleashing rage." He murmured into her ear, causing them both to laugh at the words.
"On that note, why are you really here, Silvertongue?" She asked and he raised his eyebrows at her expression, and she casually smirked back at him. "You don't ever come in here without something that you need me to do, so what is it that you need?" She asked.
"You have to promise that you won't stab me if I tell you because it was not my idea, I swear." Loki said and Drina raised her eyebrows at him. "Well, we were thinking about going to--"
