Aubrey POV:
They were right, you really shouldn't have gone for another swing. You already had messed up the first time, so why did you even swing again? Dammit Aubrey, focus, the argument was a while ago, and everything should be good now. Even though everything should be settled, I'm not even sure if they will ever even want to look at me again-
No. Aubrey, you NEED to talk to someone about this, maybe Basil? Yeah, Basil sounds like a good person to vent to.
You get up from sitting on a park bench and make your way down to Basil's house, practically radiating with nervous and angry energy. You don't know why you feel like this, probably because venting can get a bit personal, but you really wish that you could just calm down for once.
The walk down to Basil's was nice for the most part, besides you being semi-nervous and still thinking about the argument with the hooligans. Some of the things they said really hurt, but you had to power through them.
*A few minutes pass*
You see Basil's house in the distance, letting out a small sigh of relief. You still have no idea WHY you are even doing this, but you are already at his house, so there is no backing out now. You knock on the door.
*Knock knock*"Hello. Who is this?"
"Oh hi Polly, is Basil here?"
"Actually, he is here! He is in the backyard watering plants right now, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you visited with him for a bit!"
"Thanks Polly."
You walk into Basil's house, and head to the back door, noticing how many plants Basil has gotten since you last had been in here. You start to shake a little as you open the back door, besides, venting isn't easy, especially to someone who you weren't so nice to for so long.
*You step out back*
You notice how small the backyard actually is, only having enough room for a small flower bed and a couple of vegetables. You see Basil near the small flower bed, watering some deep blue flowers (It's the Love-in-a-Mist flower if anyone needed to know). You see Basil's head perk up and look at you.
"Oh hey there Aubrey! What are you doing around here?"
"I just needed someone to talk to for a bit.""W-well, what do you want to talk about?"
"I'm not sure how to explain it, but I just want to talk to someone about it.""Oh, um, ok! We can go up to my room if you like, or we can stay out here!"
"Out here is just fine. It has a much more calming atmosphere, don't you think?"
"Yeah, I do. Anyways, what did you want to talk about? Y-you can tell me, don't worry!"
You explain to Basil about the fight with the hooligans, about Kel getting his leg severely hurt. You just vent to him about EVERYTHING. He seems mildly shocked, but overall understanding that the "Kel's leg is screwed up because of me" thing was an accident.Basil starts to comfort you a bit after you tell him what the others had said during the argument. You didn't really take any of the comments personally, but they still hurt. After a while, you finally stop and give Basil a hug as you walk out the front door, glad that you came.
