"Higher pappie!" I laugh as I swing her higher on the swing "I want to reach the stars!" I laugh more, swinging her and looking to Louise who was laughing at the scene, preparing the picnic "fine, I'll take you to the stars!" I pull her off, putting her on my back and I run around the park with her giggling. I tightened my grip around her ankles as I ran "watch out world, here comes Jocelyn Howell!" Louise laughs at us, telling us to come over and eat. I throw her in the air, catching her in my arms and cuddling her tightly walking to the picnic "auntie Louise! Did you see? Did you see? Me and pappie went to the stars!" I sat down getting out a sandwich for Jocie and handing it to her who sat down and munched on it happily "I saw, did you see the moon?" I lie down on the blanket and take a bite of my apple, watching Louise and Jocie chat. I sigh wishing Dan was here "pappie, can we go to the moon?" I turn to her and smile, chuckling "yes, love. We can go to the moon" she climbs on me, sitting on my stomach and lying on top of me. I stroked her red hair as I eat my apple "look! I can see a bunny!" She pointed to one of the clouds, pointing out to me where the bunny is "I see a rocket!" Louise announced, pointing to another cloud. I smiled at her "what do you see, pappie?" I stare at the clouds, trying to make out a shape but no. I saw Dan, his smiling face beaming down at me. His dimple forming on his cheek. My breath hitched as I stared at the cloud "I..er...I see...ice cream!" Jocie jumped on my stomach beaming at me "oh! Can we get ice cream pappie, pleaseeeeee" I giggle at her, taking a bite of my apple "after lunch, you still have lots of food to eat" Joce climbed off me and started quickly eating her food. She does this, where she really wants something she'll quickly like lightening speed do her first thing so we can go do what she wants quicker. I laughed at her "this will make you happy, Phil" I rise my eyebrow at Louise, getting up. She read the message on her phone "the soldiers are coming back later today, they get to stay for 3 months" I run my hands through my hair, on the verge of tears. That means Dan is coming back, I get to see him. Kiss him again, hug him again. For 3 months! God has blessed me! "Daddy?!" Louise nods at Jocie and I ask her what time in which she replied in 10 minutes. I curse under my breath and help Louise pack everything away "c'mon, Jocie! We can't miss your dad"

I pull up at the airport and hold Jocie's hand, Louise had gone home so it was only us. I looked out for Dan, praying to god he was ok! "Daddy!" I panic when Joce lets go of my hand and runs off through the crowds "Jocelyn!" I run after her, losing her in the crowd. Oh god, oh god, oh god! I lost her! Fuck! I call her name again, feeling a panic attack come along. I feel a tap on my shoulder and see Dan holding her. I wasted no time and wrapped my arms around him breathing heavily "sorry pappie, did I cause an attack?" Jocie stroked my hair and I nodded, unable of speak "Joce, you shouldn't run off like that" I managed to shakingly pull away, calming myself down and take Jocie from Dan's arms "don't worry, baby. I'm fine, but don't run off" she nodded and I kissed Dan, letting the tears fall "can we get ice cream now?" I pulled away and smiled at Jocie, nodding and taking Dan's hand "don't you dare leave me again, Howell" he smiled at me, pecking me on the lips
