Blood means nothing

It was period 4, just before lunch and Tae could feel her eyes getting heavy. Since she had been up since 5am and went to bed at 12am she was so low on energy. She just felt like today was a bad day. A simple nice girl tried to be friends with her and she just pushed her away. Raven didn't even do anything to her, Tae knew that, but she didn't want anymore friends than she had as that was risking even more someone finding out about her secret.

"Tae..Taelyn..Miss Boneit?"
Suddenly Tae stopped day dreaming.
"Am I boring you?" Mrs Devour asked in a rather sharp tone.

"No sorry just tired."

"Well you can sleep..just not in my lesson. When did you go to bed last night?" She approached closer to Tae as she said this.

"10:30" She lied.

"And you woke up at?"

"7" She lied again.

"So why for gods sake are you tired!! Do some of the maths questions to wake your brain up or I will be keeping you at lunch." Mrs Devour turned back around and walked to the front of the class.

"Well what are the rest of you doing!! WORK, WORK, WORK!!" Tae rolled her eyes and picked up her pen. And then to her delight she dropped the pen. Great she thought. As she bent down to grab the pen she looked up to her suprise to see Raven. Suddenly there was a loud bang and all eyes were back on her. She realised she had just made direct eye contact with Raven.

"Shit."

"EXCUSE ME TAELYN BONEIT DID YOU JUST SWEAR IN MY CLASS!" The woman's eyes had darted right at Tae as she slowly sat back up. She knew she was screwed.

"What no I..I said shoot. I swear."

"Hm." But to her suprise Mrs Devour just turned back round to writing on the whiteboard. Damn I got lucky that time she thought to herself. Then she realised, Raven had just seen this all happen. Oh man what am I going to say to her now? She pondered. The rest of the hour felt so slow. Every time she looked at the clock it had only been a minute. Tae just put her head down and closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep.

About half an hour later she was woken up to the bell.
"And students don't forget to do the three pages of homework. Have a good day." Mrs Devour was shouting over the class who were half out the door.

Tae quickly jumped up and shoved her book into her bag. It was lunch and she wanted to talk to Raven to try and at least make some type of amends.

"Raven!! Wait up." She shouted. Raven turned around and stopped to wait for her.

"Can we go somewhere?"

"Well kind of got no choice don't really know anywhere." The two started walking down the corridor, Raven was trying to not get lost so she didn't take her eyes of Tae so she grabbed her hand as Tae led her. They exited the building and were behind some bleachers. Tae then sat down and gestured for Raven to sit next to her. So she plopped her bag down and sat.

"Look I'm sorry for earlier, I was just having a bad morning, can we still be friends?"

"I guess so, you are a little mean though just a hint."

"Sorry I know that, my friend group should be here any minute now. We hang here on Wednesdays as they like to watch the guys doing drills on the field."

"What you don't like watching them?"

"Eh not my thing I just let them do what they want." Just then the four girls approached all giggling at the guys.

"Oh hey guys this is Raven she's gonna hang with us for a bit."

"Oh cool." Danielle replied.

"Oo a newbie." Veronica excitedly said.
