Tae quietly shut the door behind her , leaning against it with a smile wiped across her face. Best evening ever, she thought to herself. She peered into the living room to luckily find her once again drunken father passed out on the sofa. Oh how she wishes one day it would kill him.
"Taelyn." A voice called from the kitchen. Tae walked in to find her mom.
"Mom? Why are you home?"
"Well I do live here. Where have you been, and where did you get that dress? You didn't steal it did you?"
"No no my friend bought it from me as a gift."
"Hm the same one that caused you not to come home at the right time the other week?"
Tae didn't respond.
"She's trouble you know."
"What no she's not. She's one of the best things that has happened to me."
"Well before she came along you were coming home at the right times."
"Mom I'm 16 and it's 10pm? What's so bad about that?"
"Your father won't be happy if he finds out."
"Dad is never happy he's a drunk."
"Taelyn Boneit you will not talk about your father that way." Silvia had started raising her voice.
"But it's true and you know it, why can't we leave mom?"
"Taelyn he's my husband we don't have any where to go." She had lowered her tone again.
"Anywhere's better than here. And you know that."
"Well don't let your father find out about this girl, what's her name anyway?"
"Raven. I'm going up to bed now." Tae then creeped upstairs to her room and threw herself on her bed.
Her trail of thought of Raven's smell had just come rushing back. Oh how that was so amazing. She pulled out her phone and opened the newly downloaded instagram. She had a few requests from a few people that she knew until Raven's page caught her eye.
Her username made her giggle. @Raventheape3. She scrolled through her page and saw pictures of her with what she presumed were her old friends and a few food ones.
After scrolling for a while she felt her eyes feeling heavy so decided to get an early night.
Raven opened the front door and chucked the keys in the bowl on the table in the hallway. Wow. She felt like a princess.
"Raven Mija?" Her mom called out.
"Hey moma." She slid into the living area to see her mom with a glass of red wine and the tv on, while she was flicking through a magazine.
"Where's papa?"
"Mhm working late." She said as she sipped her wine.
"Really, thought he just got through that big project?"
"Yeh well a silly new assistant has gone and deleted some files by accident. He texted about half an hour ago."
"Oh okay, did he say to wait up?"
"No no I was waiting for you."
"Me? Why?"
"You took the car without permission." She then sipped her wine again.
Shit. Raven realised she got so excited she forgot to ask.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry I forgot to ask.""Mhm, I had to order the nanny an uber to take Lexa to swimming."
