The beating was bad that night. Tae got home and was immediately greeted with her father shouting through the house.
"TAELYN HEATHER BONEIT!!"
Tae threw her shoes of to the side and her father appeared in the hallway from the kitchen.

"Where the fuck have you been?"

"I was out with some friends."

"Doing what?"

"Studying." She lied.

"You liar, you always lie. You think your so smart. Walking around with attitude. Your just a brat." He chugged down some more beer as he approached Tae and smacked her across the face, leaving a red mark on her soft cheek. He then punched her left eye causing it to turn purple. Tae fell back into the wall holding onto her face.

"Stupid shit." He spat at her and then stumbled into the living room.
"Go to bed I don't care if you've eaten or not." He called back.

Tae grabbed her shoes and ran up to her room slowly closing the door to not anger her dad anymore and threw herself onto her bed. Her lip was trembling and she started crying into the sleeve of her hoodie. What started as a few tears, ended in silent sobs. Tae just cried herself to sleep snuggled into her hoodie.

Tae opened her eyes to what felt like a hangover. She pressed her phone on and it said 3:04. Just then everything that happened the day before came flooding back. She slowly sat up and opened her door as silently as she could. She then tiptoed into the bathroom, locking it behind her. After taking her hoodie off, she grabbed a towel and ran it under the hot water and pressed it onto her swollen eye. If felt so good to sooth it and then she moved down to her cheek.

After getting the swelling down she turned to put on her hoodie and realised. It was Raven's. She picked it up and carried it with her quietly back to her room, pulling her jeans of carefully so she was just in her underwear and t-shirt, then hopping back into bed. She put the hoodie on top of her and smelt it. It smelt like her. Tae fell asleep once again to the smell and comfort of Raven.

*The night before*
"Hey do you guys know why Tae left so suddenly?" Raven asked the other two.

"Nah she's got strict parents." Hannah said while still glued to the video her and Danielle were watching.

"I've got to go, see you tomorrow." Raven then grabbed her phone and quickly left. She could see no sign of Tae so she just headed home. It was easy enough getting back but walking back felt lonely without talking to someone.

After getting back home she was greeted to her family eating dinner.

"Ah Raven mija, where have you been?" Raven's dad, Robert Pilok, was a head of a company and worked long hours so it was no surprise they were eating late.

"Oh was at some diner with a few friends i made." She responded while grabbing some water from the fridge.

"Well join us then."

"No i'm good ate a bit earlier." She started walking off but was summoned back.

"Young lady that wasn't a question that was a demand, sit."
Raven turned around and sat opposite her mom.

"How was your day mija?" Ana Pilok was a headteacher in a elementary school. She too worked a lot but was a lot softer than Robert.

"Fine." She then took a bite of the lasagna on the table.

"Don't talk to your mother with attitude." Robert glared at her.

"I didn't but sorry momma."

"That's it Raven i'm done with you and your attitude go to your room."
