It's 5am. Taelyn is half awake as her father was being very loud after having to much alcohol. She rolls over in her bed and picks up her phone to see a few messages from her friend group and some Instagram ones as well.
Her room was pretty basic because she got criticised by her dad a lot and chances are anything precious to her would be confiscated. The bed was an old, rustic wrought iron one put against a wall near the window sill. On the opposite wall was a plain black desk which had a few piles of work on, some pens and a white desk lamp. Underneath was a little bin put on top of the broken floor panel where Taelyn kept anything she cared about. It was small but did the job. At the end of the wall where her bed was, stood a white basic cupboard with some hanging rails and folding area. Nothing special, just the basic necessities.
Taelyn didn't like being called that, she went by Tae so anytime her full name was said. She knew it was bad. Her dad had just screamed Taelyn through the house and he barged through the door.
"Taelyn! Get up right now and go clean the kitchen you lazy shit!" He bellowed, while half tripping clearly drunk by the door frame. He turned around and slam the door extremely hard.
Another day of this shit, Tae thought to herself. She quickly sprung up from the covers, pulled a hoodie over her head and put her phone in her pocket. Her eyes were feeling heavy as usual but she couldn't get away with trying to sleep anymore. Scurrying downstairs she almost tripped but luckily caught herself. Tae was used to having to maintain good balance because sometimes her dads slaps were so harsh. She went into the kitchen and quickly started cleaning knowing she had to be out the door in 2 hours and would of had to finish the kitchen, got herself ready and finished some last minute work.
After about an hour and a half had gone by, Tae was done so she dashed upstairs heading to the bathroom to quickly get ready. Once she got into her room she threw on some baggy black jeans, an acid dyed t-shirt with some graphic design on and her black converse. Tae brushed through her short brown hair and grabbed her books and stuffed them into her bag. She quickly shouted she was going before her dad could say anything and left.
Damn no breakfast again she thought to herself. Finally she had reached the bus stop and hopped on a minute later. She was one of the first stops so the bus was quite empty. Tae reached into her bag after sitting in a window seat near the back and pulled out some earphones. She plugged them into her phone and got lost into her thoughts while listening to the music.
Tae was taken by suprise when a girl with long brown hair fell right on top of her. She hadn't even realised how many people were now on the bus. The girl was wearing plain denim mom jeans, a purple hoodie with a black graphic t-shirt over it and airforce ones. She carried a plain jansport bag and had green eyes. A sweet smile was patterned on her face and she had apologetic eyes , Tae looked her in the eye. Suddenly the girl spoke.
"Omg i'm so sorry." Her voice was soft. She had a worried face on her face. Tae felt annoyed at her but felt a bit bad at the same time.
"Jeeze be more careful." She responded. Tae awkwardly looked up and down at the girl and slowly turned back towards the window.
"I'm Raven Pilok." she said quickly at Tae.
Tae slowly turned back around to face Raven. She was thinking about to introduce herself but the bus stopped at the school giving her a way out.
"Got to go, nice meeting you Raven." Tae grabbed her bag, shoved her headphones back in and exited her seat at a faster pace than usual."Hey wait I didn't get your name?" Raven called out at her. Tae turned around and just smiled at her. She then left the bus.
Tae walked through the corridors of hell and approached her deep blue locker. She entered her code and opened it up. Anything but special you could call this locker. On the inside of the door was a picture of Tae and 4 other girls put up with blue tac and the main section contained folders. Tae grabbed the AP English folder and closed the locker only to be greeted with a suprise.
