Raven opened her eyes to see the tree's blowing fiercely out her window and turned onto her side. She stared at her desk and the paintbrushes she left out the night before. She searched for her phone and once she founded it checked any messages. A few from the groupchat with Jack and his friends, but nothing interesting.
Raven missed Tae's good morning texts sometimes, but Tae did her dirty so she wasn't going to focus on that.
"Raven!! Raven.." Just then the door flung open.
"Morning me amor." Raven's mom came over and gave her a kiss on her forehead and brought in a plastic bag with two passports in."Mija where's your passport, I want to keep them all together in this bag."
"Oh In my desk draw hang on." She grabbed the passport and handed it over.
"Where's papa's one?""He's staying behind, last minute work cancellation."
"Mama, el siempre esta haciendo eso?" (He is always doing that?)
"Raven, trabaja mucho para que podamos hacer cosas como irnos de vacaciones. Besides he's been to New York plenty of times. ( he works a lot so we can do things like go on holiday.)
"Si, si"
"Now get ready we are leaving in an hour." She then went back downstairs.
New York, Raven loved New York, although she'd only been once when she was 7, it was still a trip she wouldn't forget.
Tae wiped the dried up mascara from her eyes with what was left of her makeup remover and tried her hardest to get it off. But it was some stubborn mascara. She'd left it on for 4 days and moped around being ordered what to do instead off going into school. A small knock went at her door and Tae's mom appeared.
"Tae be good i've got a 48hr shift."
"Me be good, it's him who's the problem."
"Your father is that him, and just do what he wants."
"I don't want to be his slave anymore, I've got no life because off him."
"You're alive because off him, and you should of been more careful with that girl."
"Raven was her name mom. Raven. Just go I'll see you after your shift." Her mom just stood there contemplating on what to say but didn't say anything. After a minute she left, closing the door behind her.
Tae felt her eyes swell up, as she stared back at her reflection. Her heart ached like there was no tomorrow. She lifted her head up to the ceiling forcing the tears back into her eyes. Tae didn't know how much longer she could do this, especially with Raven not in her life. It had been 1 month and each day got harder and harder.
The thought crossed her mind for a second. It was only a second but it was there. She could end it all. No one would care, no one loved her. And it would put her out her misery.
But she knew she couldn't do that. She would get out one day. She just knew it.
"TAELYN." The forbidden voice bellowed. The door flew open with Jeremiah standing there, with a bottle of beer in his hand.
"I've got some friends coming round and you have to make the food.""But what am I supposed to make?"
"Think of something you fat shit."
"If it's good you can have some. Have it done for 6."
"Can I at least take the car to the store?"
He then growled at her, with a slight nod and threw the keys at her as he slammed the door on his way out.Tae continued rubbing the mascara off her face while thinking off easy food to make.
"Papa why can't you come?"
