Chapter 5

Previously on The Prince’s Knight:

Tatsuno chuckled and nodded. “Alright, should we ride around the castle grounds then head to the mountains?”

Onyx smiled and nodded. “Sounds like a plan.”

The two kicked their horses and rode off. As they rode, all the ladies they passed would giggle and wave at Tatsuno. Onyx watched and grumbled from jealousy when ever Tatsuno would smile and wave back.

Tatsuno heard his grumbles and glanced back at him. “Are you ok Onyx?”

Onyx nodded but continued to glare at the girls. “I’m fine…”

"Ok..?" Tatsuno said, confused. They stop at the gate to leave the manor and Tatsuno gets off. "Wait here please" Tatsuno says before going to the guard and talk with him for a bit

A lady comes over as she wanted to go for a walk outside. She waits patiently until Tatsuno notices her and bows.

"May we be of any service to you my lady?" Tatsuno says as he stood up and smiled charmingly at her.

She blushed slightly. "I was just wondering if i could take a walk outside the manor."

Tatsuno chuckled softly. "Well alright, I'm not the one to ask. Have a good walk my lady." He bowed and kissed her hand gently before walking back over and getting on the horse "Alright they will open the gate in a moment.” He said to Onyx, who had been growling at the whole interaction.

“Alright..” He grumbled out.

Tatsuno sighs at the response and looks down. “Would you rather go back?”

Onyx shook his head and looked at him with slight sadness in his eyes. "No no! I'm fine."

Tatsuno winced slightly at the look in his prince’s eyes and frowned "Ok..." He sighed and led the way out the gates. In his mind he was just doing his job as a knight; part of being a knight is to be courteous with ladies. He soon got lost in his thoughts, one prominent thought being 'I have to win this contest so My lord will be happy'

Onyx followed beside him, lost in his own thoughts. 'Why am i feeling this way around him? Why do I get so angry when he's just being friendly to the ladies?'

Tatsuno soon stopped his horse by some trees. "Let's take a break." He got off and tied his horse up.

Onyx nodded and went to get off but fell on his butt again. He huffed and tied up his own horse, mumbling something about horses being too tall.

Tatsuno chuckled softly then laid down in the shady grass. "There's a canteen in my saddle bag if you're thirsty."

Onyx nodded and grabbed it. He started to drink it but accidentally spilled it all over his shirt. "Damn it.." He pulled off his shirt and hung it on a tree branch.

Tatsuno watched and blushed slightly. He quickly looked away. 'What is wrong with me?! I see guys without shirts all the time so why am I getting flustered seeing Onyx without a shirt?!' He groaned and rolled over, burying his face in the ground.

Onyx looked curiously at him before walking over and laying down next to the knight. "What's the matter?"

Tatsuno flinched slightly and glanced at him. He blushed again and quickly hid his face again "Nothing.." He muttered.

Onyx shrugged and looked at the sky. "Its so pretty out today."

Tatsuno nodded and sat up. "Onyx... what... what if i dont win the contest..?" He looked at the prince with the saddest expression he has ever shown to anyone in public.
