Chapter 21

Previously on The Prince's Knight:

"I have other plans with it" Zander then leaves with a chuckle.

"No!" Tatsuno screams at Zander

Zander grabs a piece of paper, writing a note before walking to Onyx's room. He knocked and Onyx answered the door "Oh hi, what's this about?"

Zander pulled out the ring and chain with the note "I found this on Sir Takao's night stand by his bed signed for you.

Onyx cocks his head and takes it "Thank you?" He closes the door and opens the note, the ring falling from it. The note read ' I never cared about you so take this ring back.' He gasps and drops the note as he puts his hands over his mouth. He falls to his knees, sobbing hard "How..?"

Meanwhile Tatsuno worked quietly on picking the lock so he could escape.

-Dawn the next day-

Everyone was seated and the guards had Tatsuno chained to the floor with his hands behind his back. Onyx was sitting on his throne, his eyes red from all the crying he had done. He was unable to look at Tatsuno.

Tatsuno couldn't look at Onyx either, he had figured out what the priest had done "I plead guilty to treason. I plead guilty for turning the Prince to the sins of a homosexual and making him fall in love with me" He sobbed lightly

The king hummed and nodded "You are to be hung this afternoon for disobeying me and the royal oath of Knight-hood"

"Wait," Onyx said quietly. Tatsuno looks at Onyx, tears streaming down his face. Onyx looks at Tatsuno as tears fall from his own face "Why? Why did you do it?

"Why did I do what..?"

"Why did you do this to me? To my heart? I thought.." Onyx broke down into sobs "I thought you loved me.."

Tatsuno winces "I do love you.. I was tortured and made to tell them everything.. Father Zander took my ring from me, I have marks on my neck from it.. I think it's better I die so I won't hurt you anymore.."

Onyx swallows hard "How do i know you're not lying to me?"

Tatsuno laughs "You can look at my back and neck for yourself..!"

"Im not talking about the torture. How do I know that all we did together was true? How do I know you actually love me?"

"I wouldn't have done all of that if i didn't love you.. I've never told anyone I've loved them before.. I would rather die than have to see you suffer.." Tatsuno sobs. He winced at the feeling of the stinging on his back.

Onyx let out a sob and fell to his knees "Tatsuno.."

Tatsuno flinches and looks down. Tears dripped off his face onto the floor. He lets out heart broken sobs. He closes his eyes as the pain seared him more. He shook his head scared that he got infected from the whipping.

Onyx looks at the guards "As the Prince and future king, I order you to let him go!"

Tatsuno smiles slightly. He opens his eyes and looked at Onyx. He got light headed and he knew he could die if he did have an infection.  "I love you Onyx.." Tatsuno murmured before his vision blurred and he fell over unconscious. An infection had gotten in his wounds from the filth of the dungeon cell he was in.

Onyx screams and runs over to Tatsuno "Let him go! He needs a doctor!" The guards quickly unlocked the chains and fetched for a doctor "Take him to my room" The guards carried Tatsuno to Onyx's room and laid him on Onyx's bed. Soon a doctor arrived and started to treat his wounds. Onyx sat down on a chair next to the bed when the doctor left.
