Chapter 2

Snowfall blinked her eyes awake with a wide yawn. A realization suddenly struck her and her paws began to tingle all over in excitement.

Moth and I are being made apprentices today!

She got up quickly and prodded her sister awake and repeated her name many times loudly.

"Moth wake up! It's today! It's today!" She said bouncing up to her paws jumping up and down excitedly.

Moth opened her groggy pale green eyes in confusion.

"Whah?" She said sleepily, barely opening her eyes.

"We're being made apprentices today dum dum!" Snowfall pointed out rolling her eyes.

Moth's pale green eyes then flew open.

"Oh yeah!" She squealed immediately jumping to her paws like her sister.

"Would you two keep it down? Goodness, the two of you could not be any louder!" Ivy hissed at them from her nest with her two tiny sleeping pups which had just been born the last moon.

"Sorry Ivy." Moth muttered.

The two pups got up and walked out of  the nursery so they wouldn't bother the Alpha female any more with their uncontainable joy.

Their father had been gone for over a moon, they hadn't seen him since that night, and they missed him.

But Snowfall blew it off and kept on assuring herself that he would come back. He's on a just on a long journey, he'll be back.

Strangely enough, no wolf questioned Adders disappearance. But  that was probably because no wolf want to discuss it around Snowfall and Moth.

The two pups emerged into the main open cave and Holly, who was talking to Thistle saw them and ran over to greet them.

"Are you guys excited?" She asked them enthusiastically, her bright green eyes sparkling.

"Duh! We're being made apprentices!" Snowfall jumping once again with overriding happiness.

"And there'll be plenty of apprentice duties for you to do once you are." Thistle said with a smug look while walking over to over to them.

Holly rolled her eyes and slapped the male dark gray apprentice on the back with her tail. "Oh Thistle, stop it. Let them be." Holly slightly scolded him but her grin remained on her face. 

Thistle shrugged with a smirk. "Hey, I was just stating the obvious to them since they'll be apprentices in a matter of moments." 

Holly rolled her eyes and fixed her eyes back on Snowfall and Moth. "Ignore him you two, I'll see you soon at your ceremony." She grinned winking at them. The two pups looked at one another joyously at her words. 

The two apprentices then gave them a nod and walked off talking.

Snowfall and Moth looked at each other with smug looks, both thinking the exact same thing.

"Aw, they're perfect for each other." Moth sighed in a tease watching them as they walked off.

Snowfall grinned at her tawny golden pelted sister in agreement.

She looked around cave at all the wolves talking. Not every wolf was there, like Alder, Gusty, Thorn, and Cypress.

The two soon to-be apprentices walked proudly walked, going out of the cave.

Cedar, Thunder, and Sycamore talking to one another and then noticed the to pups approaching them.

"What are you two up to?" Thunder asked in amusement looking at them warmly.
