It was dark. I was surrounded by nothing but darkness, and the overwhelming weight of dread and fear pressed upon my chest. The forest trees around me were so dark, darker than the deadest night I could envision.
Something flashed in the corner of my eyes, maneuvering in and out of the trees. My gaze became alert as I fixed it to where the movement came from.
A sudden very familiar and dreadful
feeling came over me, and I could feel the blood rush out of my body and my insides begin to fall apart. No, no! Not this!I began to shake uncontrollably and my breaths were fast when I saw a wolf made of shadows emerge from the trees in front of me. I froze in an instant.
The shadow wolf just seemed to stand there, looking at me with its eyeless stare. My throat was stiff and I was unable to swallow. Chills were sent from my ears to the tip of my black tail.
Gentle wind blew around me rustling my fur. I couldn't blink. Nor could I shake the horrible emotion I was feeling. I could not take my eyes of this shadow figure wolf in front of me. Holly...
An ominously familiar voice seemed to whisper into the wind. In an instant I wanted to let out a shriek but something was preventing me from doing so. I began pick up my paws, slowly back away from the figure, still not taking my eyes off it.
Until suddenly, my hind legs disappeared from underneath me, sending them into nothing. I let out a shriek and my front paws followed in suit as I plummeted into void.
I shut my eyes, feeling wind and air rush around me as I fell, but when I opened my eyes, I was in what appeared to be a cave?
Out of the darkness of the cave once again came forth the shadow wolf, only this time, I grew more fearful when I saw it.
Blood was covering it's whole muzzle and dripping from it's transparent jaws, falling onto the ground. And the paws of the shadow wolf were stained with the blood also.
It tilted it's head to the side slightly in a spine-chilling way. What does this thing want from me?
You know what I want from you. The winds whisper came almost too loudly in my ear that time, causing me to. This thing could hear my thoughts..
As I gazed into the none existent eyes of the shadow wolf, a vision flashed before my eyes of a long dark green leaved and pink flowered shrub. Oleander no! I gasped again turning the opposite direction of the plant to get away with a heavily distressed burning feeling in my chest.
But when I turned around I was met with a piercing agonizing pain in my stomach that sent me crumpling to the ground, writhing in pain. The muscles in my chest began to burn and I began to choke on my own breath.
Then out of nowhere, the pain seemed to stop. I felt nothing. I literally could not feel anything at all. Only loud eerie ringing in my ears. Not even my body pressing on the ground. Slowly, I began to lift my head off the ground to get a look of where I was, as soon as I brought it up, I was smacked in the face by a strong force and vicious snarl.
I yelped in shock, and the force of the shadow wolf slamming into my head, caused it to fly back again hitting the ground and where my vision went dark.
Holly's head shot up from her nest as she breathed heavily waking up with a burning sensation. Her bright green eyes were wide with dread.
I'm.. I'm back here? She looked around her at all her dozing Packmates in their nest's from the far back of the Sky Wind's den. She eyed down at her paws, listening to her breathing and thoughts. It was just a dream..
