Never Demigods Again, Right?

"The monsters were never under my bed.

Because the monsters were inside my head.

I fear no monsters, for no monsters I see.

Because all this time, the monster has been me"

Draco expected many things from his day, but what he didn't expect was for his demigod side of his life to come and give him a hard punch of reality.

Draco Malfoy, who is not actually a Malfoy but a Mr. Nobody from the mortal world, would have loved to grow up at Camp Half-Blood, his home, surrounded by people like him, by people who would care about him, even if they didn't care about him, where he wouldn't have to pretend to be someone else, someone so far away from who he really was, where he would have been able to make friends, and have a real family, one that may not be formed by blood, by chance, but by choice. Draco Nobody would have been the funniest person ever, cracking jokes with his brothers, sisters, and friends, stealing things for fun, and giving them back days later just for the fun of it, he would have been known around camp for his smile, and Draco Nobody would have been nothing like Draco Malfoy. And Draco despises the day he was forced to become Draco Malfoy because not a month after he lost who he was and who he wished to be, and Draco Nobody was left in the dark for only some to remember and for none to see again. Oh, how he wished he could be that naive, happy, carefree kid again.

Ever since Draco accepted that quest from Lady Hecate, so many years ago, his demigod life was left behind. When he and Luna had accepted the goddess's proposal they had been young, fairly new to the world of the gods and their tricks, they had been blinded by the goddess's promises of adventure and they were ten, they didn't think of the consequences or about how it would change their life, or even about the chance of not visiting Camp Half-Blood ever again. The quest they had been offered was insane, no one in their right state of mind would have accepted, but that is why Draco guesses Hecate asked them, they were so young and thrilled with everything around them, that they would have accepted even the craziest of the quests, and that is exactly what they did.

At the mere age of ten Luna and Draco were taken away from the mythological world to be carefully placed into the magical one. Suddenly in the wizarding world, Luna Lovegood and Draco Malfoy existed, as if they had been there all the time, oh! The wonders of the mist. Draco and Luna were meant to protect and guide Harry Potter through his life, to help him end a man called Tom Riddle; Draco Malfoy was supposed to become Harry Potter's best friend and end the rivalry between the Slytherin and the Gryffindors; it is not even necessary to say he failed miserably. Draco was placed into a household full of assholes, Draco Nobody had just gotten out of a harmful family, Draco Nobody had only three months ago found a caring and loving family, and now, Draco Nobody was forced into another harmful family. He had a whole year of screams, punches, tears, loneliness, and pain to learn to loathe Hecate and everything that had anything to do with her quest, therefore Draco Malfoy could not, under any circumstances, be friends with Harry Potter or end the rivalry between the two houses.

By the time he realized the harm of his actions it was too late, he was now forced to keep up with his act and be Harry Potter's enemy, help him from afar, in subtle small ways, from the other side of the war, from the side he didn't yearn to be part of. Forced away from his best friend and lover, Luna.

After years of being in the wizarding world and away from the mythological world, Luna and Draco had come to know every rule and every hole there was to those rules, those rules as to what and what could be shared between the two worlds. The wizarding world mustn't know about the mythological world and the deities that ruled them. Everyone from the mythological world who learned about the wizarding world must oath not to spread any secrets, demigods and gods are not affected by the wizard magic unless chosen to be so, demigods can't use normal wands, demigod powers mustn't be used around wizards, nothing and no one apart from gods and demigods from the mythological world could leak into the wizarding world, not monsters, not prophetic dreams. So when Luna Lovegood, because after years of pretending to be someone it is hard not to become them in at least some way, told him she had had a demigod dream, Draco could not wrap his head around, and when she told him that communication with Hecate was gone silent again, he could only think of the worse.
