3RD PERSON POV
When Seungmin woke up, he found himself laying in the bench inside the pergola. He looked around, trying to remember what happened last night. Oh. Seungmin thought, finally able to recall the things that happened. Where is he though? The boy thought again, asking himself. "He probably went home. But, where does he live?" Seungmin, now speaking audibly, asked himself. He decided to get ready for the day and enter the Castle. He then heard the sound of hunger created by his aching stomach. He was drained of energy, even he though he slept well. He sets to find any store that sell food, enough to fill his stomach. Fortunately, there was a store that sold baked goods. Seungmin drooled over the delightful sight, feeding also his hungry eyes. He walked in and greeted the man behind the counter. He began to look at the delicious bread laying on a tray. Seungmin chose the peanut-topped muffins, purchasing 4 of them. He payed the man with Forty bronze coins as he left the store happy and hopping.
He went back to the pergola and sat at the bench. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me sitting here. After all, I helped him release whatever he was keeping inside. Seungmin thought as he opened the paper bag containing the mouth-watering food staring back at him. He took one out and allowed himself to indulge the flavor, texture, and warmth of the muffin. Eating one after another, he found himself dumbfounded as he looked at the bag, empty. He swore he saw a tumbleweed bouncing at a circular motion or was it his imagination toying with him?
He then heard sounds of hiccup echoing inside the pergola. Was it him or someone? No. It came from him and only him. The hiccups were getting frequent and louder, Seungmin hating the discomfort. "Oh, For Fuck's-hic!-s sak-hic!-e! hic! Why-hic!-y di-hic!-d I eve-hic!-n for-hic!-get to b-hic!-uy wat-hic!-er?!" Seungmin moaned between hiccups.
He wasted his time complaining rather than finding liquids to quench his thrst and discomfort. He looked around, trying to find a source of water. He soon became desperate, he looked around even more until he found a pond. Seungmin immediately went, without noticing the guards walking around in circles. As he got close to the edge of the pond, one guard immediately spotted the boy and shouted, "Hey! What are you doing?!"
Seungmin froze, but regained his composure and ran away from the scene. The Guards chased after him, not letting him escape. Seungmin thought fast. As he ran, he bent low and gathered rocks. He then hid behind the tree with huge bushes in it. He held one hand to his mouth, trying to conceal the hiccups as he held the rocks at his other hand. As the guards check every point, he throws a rock at his opposite direction, making the bush 'move', stalling the guards. As the guards left and investigated, Seungmin then let goes of his hand, forgetting that it was the only thing that minimized the volume of his hiccups. WRONG MOVE. His hiccups were freed, filling the ears of the guards. Herealized and went wide-eyed. Great job, Seungmin! You just buried your own grave! He sarcastically scolded himself. He attempted to flee but was caught. The guards captured him, immobilizing his arms with a rope.
"Who are you and where are you from?" One guard queried.Seungmin was shaking, scared. He couldn't move nor speak.
"Answer the Goddamn question!" The Guard shouted.
"Perhaps, we should just take him to the Queen and King and let them decide what we should do to him?" The other guy said, attempting to calm the furious guard.
Both of them nodded and led him to an entrance. The boy looked down, feeling embarrassed as he saw people in extravagant clothing staring at him with their burning eyes. Murmurs and whispers were getting louder as they get closer to the front. He looked up again and in his perspective, he saw someone, a woman in a formal dress, speaking about her and her homeland while the three people at the Altar listened to her. I think I might've interrupted something important. The boy thought, still squirming to the hold of the guards and the rope that prevents me from moving my hand.
Until he heard someone spoke, the voice was extremely terrifying and intimidating. He looked at the altar and saw a rather adult man in his 30s, speaking with power. He must be the king. He looked at the right and saw a beautiful woman, smiling at the woman below. And the Queen.
He looked at the center and saw someone very familiar. He was extremely good- looking and his gaze to the woman was profoundly strong, as if he can see what the woman hides.
Oh, its him last night! Wait, He's the Prince? Seungmin unintentionally muttered under his breath.
"Guards! Escort this lady outside please." The Queen ordered and the guards immediately followed. Seungmin saw the woman with tears in cheeks, sadness evident on her face. When she was gone, he was pushed harshly to the front. He looked up and saw the thee staring at him. He got flustered and looked down again.
"Who is he?" The King asked.
"He attempted to drink from the Queen's favored pond, my King. He also tried to escape but he failed doing so." The Guard spoke with respect as he lowered his head.
"Hmm, interesting. Why did you do that?"
"I was hungry and bought muffins. I forgot to buy water---"
"Muffins?--" He laughed mockingly, "Who in the world would choke on a muffin?" The King asked again.
"I-It was topped and filled with nuts. I a-assume that it got to my throat. I tend to not chewing the food enough and just immediately gulp in." Seungmin defended.
The King nodded and the Queen talked softly, "If you wanted to have a drink, why didn't you came here? Water is available for everyone."
"I am not aware, my Queen because I don't live here and if I did knew about it, I still wouldn't go here because I don't think that I possess such status nor privilege to do so."
"Then what are you doing here?" The King asked again.
"I was ordered by my mother to--"
The king looked at him and noticed the bag he's holding. "Rein, check the boy's bag. He might have brought weapons to harm."
Suddenly, a man in tuxedo, much similar to the boy who escorted Seungmin outside Chrysanthemum, appeared. He walked closer to him and greeted him formally. He took his bag and opened it. He took out the Roses, the Potion, his clothes, and his money. Letting the map and money fall, he brought the potion and the Roses to the King and Queen.
"What are these for?" The Queen asked.
"Those are gifts for you and the prince, my Queen. Yours is the potion and the Roses are for your son." Seungmin said as he felt the sweat slide off his jaw.
"Oh, So you're also participating. Not a good first impression from us. Anyway, what does it do?" The Queen asked, intensely looking at the potion as she rotates it.
Participating? In what? Seungmin thought."I don't actually know..." Seungmin wearily replied.
"How would we know if you won't try it?" The king said as he unconsciously smiled at her.
"Good idea!" The Queen said excitedly as she removed the cork and chugged down the mysterious liquid. 10 seconds have passed and she started...
Choking.
Fuck. Seungmin thought.
