Seungmin's POV
As I rode the horse, I looked back, noticing the sign 'Weller Town' and two humanoid figures getting smaller and smaller. I faced again the road, paying attention to my surroundings. The Horse I rode on was quite fast. I had to hold on for dear life, feeling the gust of wind as I try to pass through.I began to see a forest, the map specifically said to pass through in a straight line to get out and so I did, avoiding dead barks of trees. As I was near the end of the forest, light shined through, giving illumination to a green plain. It was a much easier and calmer terrain, so I slowed down the horse's speed to conserve its energy. The next path was a wide river. The only obstacle is what is the safest path to cross in. I got off and studied the river. I began to collect rocks and pebbles while the Horse sat, watching my every move.
I threw one rock at the left side, the rock sank. Not that path. I threw one again at the center, the rock sank. Not that one either. I said to myself. The only option I have are at right side of the river or find another way to cross the river. Fortunately, when I threw a big rock at the path in front of me, it didn't sank. I threw a bunch of pebbles to check again. I smiled to see the pebbles bouncing, signaling that it was shallow therefore, safe to cross this path.
I called the horse who was waiting for me to finish and rode on. I lead the way for the horse and it slowly walked as I kept throwing rocks. I was glad that I was able to work out a plan. After we crossed the river, we were welcomed by the sight of a huge wall. This must be the wall protecting the 4 kingdoms. I thought as I ordered the horse to run, excitement running to my body.
When I reached the main entrance, it was already noon and the sun was scorching hot. I was welcomed by two huge royal guards, maintaining a straight face. I was immediately intimidated when they looked at me.
"U-Uh, Good afternoon, Gentlemen. I-I was sent by my mother, Paracia Athens, to attend the meeting and stay on her behalf." I said through a stutter, mentally scolding myself.
"And your proof of consent? You need to show us a letter of approval or a seal to prove your authenticity." One Guard spoke in a stern manner. "Ah, yes. H-Here." I said as I gave him the letter and the seal given by Mother. The other guard studied both the seal and letter while the other one stared at me.
"All right, you're good to go. You just need to be scanned in case you are a dark being pretending to be a human." The Guard said in a much calmer manner. They escorted me inside and asked me to stay put as they run, from what I see, a staff which held a glowing white sphere. As it ended on my feet, it glowed red but I noticed there was a blue at the bottom.
"That's odd. The reading truncheon is acting weird. It's glowing red yet there's a small portion that shows blue."
"Wha- What does it suppose to look like?" I asked nervously."It should only be pure red, no any other color." The Guards looked at me with wide eyes and raised their Halberd at me, it was a combination of a spear, an axe, and a scythe. "SHOW YOUR TRUE FORM!"
"I- I- WHAT?!" I asked, feeling scared and nervous as they throw the same question back at me again.
"Guards! What the hell is going on here?!" An old lady asked, looking at the men who pointed their weapons at my neck. "Cease your grounds! I'll handle this." the woman said with authority and power, clearly she was in a high position because the Guards followed her and most importantly, she wore a uniform much glamorous than the guards. She led me to the opening and as I was about to enter, something blocked me from entering. The Barrier.
She then took my hand and said, "Only those who are pure can enter, prove yourself if you are indeed a pure-bred human and your head may be still attached to your neck."
She was terrifying but I was greatly thankful to her since she gave a chance to prove myself again. I attempted to enter but it felt like I was passing through a slime, it was difficult to do. When the old lady saw me struggling, I heard her pull out something and it created the sound of a sword being drawn. I looked at her right hand and immediately gasped, she held a dagger and I could see it reflect the sun's light. I then forced myself to pass through the magic barrier. She was about to stab but I was able to pass through, falling to my knees as it exhausted me. I looked at her with disbelief and fear.
She retreated her dagger and put it back to its scabbard. She entered the barrier like it was nothing. The old lady walked away from the scene, leaving me behind. The horse also walked in easily but was stopped by the Guards. "The horse stays in the barn. You can proceed to do your objective." The Guards took the leash and took the horse. I sighed, facing the first kingdom in front of me, being surrounded by a huge field of sunflower. Finally, I'm here, The Kingdom of Anthos.
I stroll to the front gate and saw a young boy. He was smaller and much thin than me and he held the most innocent face out of all. I regained my focus to the door, ignoring the boy. I walked past him but someone gripped my arm, it was the boy. I looked at him, waiting for him to speak up.
"Are you perhaps, Kim Seungmin?"
