Hayden was up and dressed at the break of dawn. Astrid, however, was still deep in slumber and if there was one rule Hiccup had learned over the years; it was, 'Never wake a sleeping Hofferson!'
But, Hayden had a rule of his own. 'Never be late to school.'
He gently shook her shoulder.
"Astrid?" He whispered.
"Mmm." She groaned, slapping his hand away.
"I made pancakes." He informed. Her eyes shot open. Her lips spread into a smile.
"Pancakes?"
"Chocolate chip." He chuckled and handed her the plateful of pancakes.
"Thank you."

After breakfast, Astrid got dressed into the same black ripped jeans, red shoulder-less shirt, and converse she was wearing the day before. She 'borrowed' Hiccup's hoodie for the day.
The rain was still pouring outside, so they decided to take the car.
***
"I'll meet you by the lockers at three." Astrid gave him a soft kiss on the cheek before leaving the car and rushing inside.
"I'll be there," Hayden whispered to himself before following suit.
***
The school bell rang at three on the dot and both teens raced to their lockers.
"Beat ya." Astrid gloated when Hiccup showed up moments later.
"I have a prosthetic leg!" He gestured wildly.
"And your classroom was closer than mine. It evens out." She chuckled.
"Okay, okay. You win." He caved. Both let out a chuckle before heading back to the car and driving to the mall.
After hours of endless shopping, they finally made it back to the Haddock house.
"Thanks for the clothes. And well, everything else." Astrid said as she pulled Hiccup into a hug.
"Anytime." He smiled. "I just have one more thing I need to do. You think you'll be okay on your own for an hour?"
"Umm, I guess," Astrid muttered nervously.
"Here." He reached into one of the shopping bags and handed her a small box.
"You got me a new phone?" The blonde wondered. Hiccup chuckled nervously as his hand found its way into the back of his messy auburn hair.
"Now you can call me if you need anything. I'll be back in an hour. Make yourself comfortable."
***
While Astrid settled on the couch to watch TV, Hayden drove back to the mall with Toothless.
He raced to the food court, to find Astrid's old friends.
"Ugh, what do you want, punch bag?" Kari scowled.
"How original?" Hayden teased. He turned to the brunette across the table, who was looking bored beyond belief. "Carter, can I talk to you?"
She nodded and excused herself.
"What is it?" She asked as she wandered off with the auburn-haired nerd.
"I need your help with something." He informed. She hesitated for a moment.
"Why me?" She wondered.
"It's for Astrid." He stated.
"What do you need me to do?"
***
"I'm home!" Hayden called as he removed Toothless's harness. Astrid emerged from the lounge faster than lightning to find Hiccup with several shopping bags and...
"Stormfly!" The blonde cheered as she noticed her parrot sitting on Hayden's shoulder.
He smiled as he brought his hand to his shoulder, allowing the bird to hop onto his hand before placing her on Astrid's shoulder.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." She smiled, as Stormfly nuzzled her cheek in affection. "Wait, you went to my house?"
"Actually, I may have had some help." He admitted. She furrowed her brow in confusion. "Carter went to pick up Stormfly while I went shopping to get everything she needs. Your dad thinks you're staying at her house."
Astrid rushed into his arms. "I can't believe you did all that for me." She whispered.
"Of course I did. Astrid if you're not ready to be found, I'll make sure you won't be." He gently stroked her hair.
He heard her let out a sniffle and pulled her out of the hug.
"Hey, I have an idea." He suggested. "Why don't we tidy all the shopping away and then we can bake some cookies."
Astrid's face lit up. She loved baking cookies. Well, she loved eating cookies. But, baking them made them even more enjoyable. She bit her lip to hide her smile and nodded.
***
Hayden emptied half of his walk-in wardrobe, cramming his clothes all into one side to make room for Astrid's new clothes.
After an hour of organizing, they headed to the kitchen. Hiccup got out a set of measuring cups, a wooden spoon, and a large mixing bowl.
"Okay, we need, plain flour and sugar, second cupboard from the left, bottom shelf." Hiccup instructed as he headed to the fridge to fetch the butter and eggs.
"Chocolate chips?" Astrid asked.
"Candy cupboard." Hiccup stated.
Once they had all the ingredients on the island in the center, they got to work.
Astrid was measuring 3 cups of flour, while Hiccup was mixing the butter, sugar, and eggs.
"Hey, Hiccup?" Astrid called, grabbing his attention. He turned to face the blonde beside him who tapped his nose, covering it in flour.
"Oh, we're playing that game, huh?" He smirked mischievously. He placed his hands onto a small heap of flour on the counter before quickly tapping her face, leaving white handprints on her rosy cheeks.
Astrid chuckled before grabbing a small fistful of flour and blowing it over Hiccup.
He waved his hand through the cloud of mist that it created.
"Oh, I am so gonna get you!" He warned before reaching into the bag of flour. Astrid's eyes opened wide in realization. She let out a squeak before racing around the island, Hiccup chased her. They found themselves in a flour bomb battle.
Astrid had better reflexes, so was able to dodge most of Hiccup's attacks. Hiccup, however, was covered from head to toe. Astrid threw a handful of powder his way, hitting him square in the face. She let out a nervous chuckle and backed away slowly.
"Hey, Astrid." He smirked, wiping the flour from his eyes. "How about a hug?"
"No!" Astrid laughed as she bolted around the island.
Hiccup doubled back on her. He finally caught up with her, wrapping his arms around her. He tickled her mercilessly to the ground.
"So not fair, Haddock!" Astrid giggled. Both teens froze as they heard heavy footsteps approaching.
"WHAT IN THOR'S NAME IS GOING ON IN HERE?!"
