Astrid awoke in Hiccup's arms, for the first time in a while. His arm draped across her stomach. She gazed around the room at all her friends sleeping soundly.

"Get off, it's my blanket!" Tuffnut snored, kicking his sister subconsciously. She gladly returned the favor.

"Mmm, Astrid you look like a pillow" Snotlout drooled. Suddenly, a cushion flew in his direction.

Astrid turned over to see Hiccup wide awake and glaring at Snotlout. She rolled her eyes and let out a chuckle. Hiccup soon returned to his previous position.

Astrid's face dropped. She grasped Hiccup's hand,

"Hiccup, let go!" She rasped, tugging his hand away. He did as asked.

"You okay?" He worried. She jumped up and bolted upstairs.

"Astrid?" Hiccup called as he ventured into the bathroom, finding her knelt by the toilet.

"Hiccup, don't-" She managed to rasp out. Hiccup of course ignored her and raced to her side, grasping as much hair as he could, tying it in a messy ponytail to free his hand, allowing him to rub circles on her back.

Her dinner did not taste half as good as it had on the way down, she decided, as she wiped the last of the sick away from the curve of her lips. She slumped against the wall.

"Hiccup, I can take care of myself." She sighed.

"I know." He nodded. "But, you shouldn't have to. Astrid, we both did this. It's not fair that you have to be the one to go through all this."

"It's just the way of the world, Hiccup." Astrid rested her forehead in her hands.

"Well, the world is stupid." Hiccup joked. Astrid let out a small chuckle. "Astrid, I want to help."

"I know you do."

"So, if you need anything, I'll be there. Anything of the day or night. Even if it's 2 am and all you want is a cuddle, I'll be there." He told her. He took her hands in his. "As long as I'm alive, you are never going through anything alone, do you understand me?"

Astrid nodded, throwing her arms around his waist.

"Thank you."

"Hey, Dad," Hiccup announced as he and Astrid made their way into his hospital room.

"Hey, Son."

Astrid tightened her grip around Hiccup's arm, pulling him back a few steps.

"Hiccup, do I really have to be here?" She whispered.

"Astrid, you'll be fine." Hiccup explained.

"What if he gets upset?"

"He won't." He reassured. The teens made their way to Stoick.

"Dad, there's something we need to talk about." Hiccup stated.

"Actually, there's something I need to talk to you about too," Stoick explained. "You go first."

"No, no. You go first." Hayden gestured.

"Okay," Stoick took a deep breath.

"Wait, you're telling me that Mom has been alive and living two hours away all this time?!" Hiccup gasped.

"Calm down, lad," Stoick suggested.

"Do you realize how insane that sounds?!" Hiccup gestured wildly with his arms.

"Hiccup. Relax. I'm sure she had her reasons." Astrid assured.

Hiccup took a deep breath and shook the knowledge off.

"Have you thought any more about the Biopsy?" He asked his father, changing the subject.

"Yes, I have," Stoick admitted. "And I'm still not doing it."

"Dad, if they can't figure out what's wrong, they can't treat you. What if it's serious?!" Hiccup ranted.

"Son, if it's my time to go..."

"Dad!"

"If it's my time to go, I accept that. But, I don't want to be stuck in a hospital for months on end to have treatment that may not even work."

"So, you're saying that the chance to live isn't worth a few months of treatment?" Hiccup wondered.

"We don't even know if it's anything that serious," Stoick explained.

"That's why you need the biopsy!" Hiccup snapped. "Dad, it could be a blood clot or a tumor or anything!"

"Calm down, Lad."

"You have so much to live for." Hiccup sighed. "You're job, me, Mom. You're telling me that none of that is worth it?!"

Stoick looked away, ashamed.

"Son, you know I love you and your mother. And even you, Astrid." He gestured. "More than anything. But, my mind is made up, you can't change that." Stoick explained.

"But maybe I can." The blonde got an idea as Ethan entered the room to check on Stoick. An idea that terrified her. But she couldn't bear to see Hiccup so distraught, so desperate times called for desperate measures. "I'll be right back." She excused herself from the room.
