"Why didn't you just tell me?" Astrid sobbed. Hiccup gently stroked her hair.

"You were scared enough for the both of us." He whispered, fighting back a tear of his own. "I just wanted you to feel okay."

Astrid pulled out of the hug to gaze into his forest green eyes.

"Hiccup, walking around like you have it all figured out, doesn't make me okay. But, knowing that you're scared too, doesn't make me feel so alone." She explained. She grasped Hiccup's hand and brought it to her stomach. "Hiccup, I've seen you with Harley. You're gonna be an amazing dad."

"And you're gonna be an amazing mom." He replied.

"You don't know that." She sighed.

"I'll tell you what. Tomorrow after class, we'll sit down and go through everything. We can make a list of everything we're gonna need, any appointments we have to make. Everything, okay?" Hiccup suggested, pulling her close once again.

"Hiccup, how are we ever going to afford it?" Astrid thought.

"I've been saving for years. Don't worry about that." Hiccup advised. "For tonight, let's just watch a movie, eat some snacks, and try not to think about it." Astrid's grip around his waist tightened as she grasped fistfuls of his hoodie.

"I don't think that's gonna happen, Hiccup." She winced.

"What's the matter?" Hiccup grabbed her shoulders and pulled her back, tears threatened to fall from her eyes. "Does it hurt?" He wondered, placing his hand back against her flat stomach. Astrid nodded. "Okay, just relax." He led her to the bed, tucking her under his blanket. She kicked it back off.

"Too hot." She rasped.

"Hot?" Hiccup wondered. "Astrid, it's freezing." He placed the back of his hand against her forehead and was shook by the heat radiating from her skin. "Here, why don't you put this on." He suggested, handing her an oversized T-shirt. "Looks like Heather and Fishlegs are settled over at your place." He gestured out of the window.

Astrid quickly got to work tearing off her hoodie. Well, the one she stole from Hiccup.

Hiccup being the gentleman that he was, turned away.

"Hiccup, you know you don't have to do that anymore." Astrid chuckled. "How do you think I got into this mess in the first place?"

"I know." He chuckled, turning back around. "What do you want to watch?"

"You choose," Astrid said, throwing Hiccup's T-shirt on.

"Okay, you're delirious." Hiccup teased.

"I always choose. So, it's only fair." Astrid explained.

"How about... Daydream?" Hiccup wondered. Astrid nodded. "Popcorn?" Hiccup asked as he opened the cupboards to pull out piles of snacks.

"And..."

"Pickle juice. I got it." He waved the jar in his hand.

"Thanks, Babe." Astrid smiled as he dropped the snacks on the bed. He handed her the remote for the television. He noticed her wince in pain, rubbing her stomach gently.

"Astrid?" He worried.

"I'm okay. Just a cramp." She reassured, kicking off her jeans.

A few moments later Hiccup shuffled himself in beside her and handed her a hot water bottle.

"Hiccup, it's too hot for a water bottle." She whined.

"I know. That's why I got you an ice-cold milkshake and a damp cloth, to keep cool." Hiccup explained. "But it should help with your cramps." He said.

Astrid placed the hot water bottle over her stomach and snuggled into Hiccup's arms.

"Hiccup! You're freezing!" She gasped, wrapping her arm around his waist.

"You're not." He stated, squeezing her gently.

"Hiccup?" Astrid pulled out of his embrace and climbed onto his lap, straddling his hips. "Are you still gonna love me when I look like a whale?"

"I thought you didn't want to talk about it." Hiccup smirked.

"You didn't answer my question."

"Astrid, you are not going to look like a whale." He assured. "Besides, no matter what you look like, I'll still love you."

"Promise?" Astrid pouted, combing her fingers through his hair.

"Astrid, remember what I told you?"

"There will always be a Hiccup and Astrid?" She remembered.

"Always." He smiled. Astrid pulled him close, wrapping her arms around his neck.

For a few minutes, they just enjoyed each other's embrace. Unfortunately, it was short-lived. Astrid hissed, rolling off of Hiccup's lap.

"Astrid?"

"Someone really doesn't like not being the center of attention." She growled, grasping her shirt.

Hiccup wriggled his arm out from behind Astrid and laid his head gently on her stomach.

"Hey, you can stop hurting mommy now!" He said softly, tracing circles with his finger. Astrid chuckled at the sensation and started playing with his hair.

"Dork." She teased.

"Yup, that's me." Hiccup agreed.

She smiled contently, braiding a few strands of hair on the back of his head as he started humming a vaguely familiar tune.

'I'll swim and sail on savage seas.
With ne'er a fear of drowning.'

Astrid rolled her eyes playfully, but couldn't help but smile at the sound of her boyfriend's voice.

'And gladly ride the waves of life,
if you would marry me.'

Astrid felt her pain start to fade. It was as if the baby could hear his voice and found it soothing.

'No scorching sun, nor freezing cold,
Will stop me on my journey.'

He slowly stopped tracing circles on her stomach and slid his hand into hers.

'If you would promise me your heart...'

He squeezed Astrid's hand.

"Hiccup, you know I don't sing." She whispered. Hiccup rolled his eyes and skipped ahead.

'To love, to kiss, to sweetly hold,
For the dancing and the dreaming,
Through all life sorrows and delights,
I'll keep your laugh inside me.'

He sang softly. Slowly. He gradually sat back up and shuffled back to the head of the bed.

'I'll swim and sail in savage seas,
With ne'er a fear of drowning...'

He reached into the drawer in his nightstand, not once losing focus on Astrid.

'And gladly ride the waves of life,'

Astrid froze when she noticed a small box in Hiccup's hand.

'If you will marry me?'
