Victory At Last

Chapter 18

[3rd POV]

Kai's sword was about to hit Morikawa but he wasn't successful. Morikawa used a force field and caused Kai to fall back down to the ground, and he winced in pain.

He looked at Misaki, and slowly dragged himself to her. She was unconscious, and Kai was more than happy to know this.

Aichi then lunged at Morikawa and was able to hit him with his sword, this made Morikawa get wounded and blood gushed out from his arm.

"Ah! You damned knight!" Morikawa tried to use a magic spell, but suddenly there was an array of magic that was felt by everyone in the field.

Ibuki used his power that can dispel magic, and he was successful. Morikawa looked at him with fear.

"No way...! I can't use my power!!" Morikawa said, shaking. "This can't be!"

"You underestimate the power of the Messiah!" Ibuki said. "Your desperation of greed ends here! Begone!"

As Ibuki said those words, a very powerful light hit Morikawa, causing him to be defeated.

"Misaki!"

"Misaki!"

"Misaki!" The goddess heard someone familiar calling her name, and as she slowly opened her eyes, she saw a brunette looking back at her with a worried look.

Misaki was confused on what was going on, and she looked around her surroundings. She seemed to be inside a room.

"Where... am I?" She asked, and felt Kai's hand held hers. "Kai?"

"Thank goodness you're safe," Kai said. "You're in the clinic in the Sanctuary's castle."

"Is everything okay now?" She asked again, as she couldn't remember what happened during the fight.

Kai nodded at her question and puts his hand on her forehead. "Take a rest, Misaki. You were injured badly..."

"I see... well, I pray for the deities for my health... and of course, for everyone to be okay." She said and closed her eyes. "Thank you, Kai."

"You're welcome, Misaki."

Three weeks after the incident, everything went back to normal. Misaki was still recovering from her injuries, and Kai would always visit her.

Aichi and Kourin were resting as well, they were relieved from their knight and royal duties to recover from their injuries too.

The queen of the Dark Zone, Asaka, had given a public apology for the trouble that Morikawa caused, and everyone accepted it. She had also given birth to her and Ren's son.

Ibuki, the Messiah, had kept himself away from the public eyes once again after it was revealed that he is engaged to Princess Suiko. Which of course surprised the citizens as it was unexpected.

At Misaki's house, Kai had arrived with a basket filled with food. He opened the door and saw Shiki sleeping on Misaki's lap as the goddess was sitting on the sofa.

"Feeling better now?" The dragon leader asked as he put the basket on the table.

"Pretty much, my abdomen still quite hurts though I'm healing. How is everything?" Misaki spoke and saw Kai handed her an apple and she graciously took it and bit on the fruit.

"Everything's at peace again, Morikawa is finally gone and we can all rest assured for no more wars." Kai said.

"Good, I'm tired of seeing war happen all the time." Misaki told him, causing Kai to chuckle.

"You only experienced this war, didn't you?"

"No, I'm able to see the other wars that happened in those 4000 years because of my ability, remember?"

"Ah, yes. I remember. You told me that around seven-"

"Eight years ago," Misaki interrupted. Kai only blinked in surprise.

"Wow."

They both shared a laugh at that.

"So what do you plan to do now, Kai?" Misaki asked him.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to marry you, goddess." Kai said sternly as he stared at her seriously. Misaki could only smile at his reply and she nodded. Kai then sat next to her and kissed her hand.

"I see, well I'm going to expect a grand wedding." Misaki joked as she touches his hair.

"Grand? You meant quite like Aichi and Kourin's wedding?" Kai raised his eyebrow.

"No, even bigger than that."

"Good heavens, no! That's too expensive even for a leader like me!" Kai retaliated, though he could already see that she was kidding. They laughed once more as they spent their day together, with love in their side and victory at last.
