Chapter 11: The Messiah

[Aichi's POV]
I stood at the balcony in one of the empty rooms at the castle, so far nothing has happened except for my wife who needed to go to her faction; the Jewel Knights to train and watch her soldiers.
I was not doing any duties, and it was a good day for me to rest. The cold breeze of the wind made me feel comfortable and at ease, since any moment a war can break out once everyone went off guard. Despite this being a rest day, I cannot help but to keep my guards up and be aware of my surroundings.
I decided to leave the room and went outside, I saw Rekka who was talking to someone with a familiar voice. There was the voice of a man and a woman, and Rekka seems to be entertaining them.
I shyly approached them to look, realizing that it was Ren from the Shadow Paladins and Asaka, his wife who rules the nation of the Dark Zone, the Queen.
Ren immediately saw me and waved. "Hello, Aichi!" He greeted me.
"H-hi, Ren!" I smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, Aichi of the Royal Paladins." Asaka greeted me as well, she gave a very elegant curtsey and I reluctantly bowed. Asaka looked at me and she giggled. "You don't have to bow, Aichi. There is no need. Though, I must apologize for not being able to come to the engagement party and the marriage. I was too busy with my work so I made Ren come by his own."
"It's alright, Queen Asaka." I smiled back and then Ren suddenly held Asaka's shoulder.
"So me and Asaka decided to visit since Kai informed me that you need more help to fight against Morikawa." Ren said.
"Ah, I see! But... all of us against one person? Isn't that a bit overkill?" I wondered, putting my finger under my chin.
"Yes, but that fool had defeated Ren's soldiers and my servants. It is not a bad idea to send out more men for protection." Asaka replied, and I nodded in agreement as a response.
She was right about it, if a bunch of trained soldiers can be defeated, then I was defeated as well... it would be a huge disaster.
"Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help." I said to the married couple. As I glanced at the queen of Dark Zone, I saw that she had a slight bump on her stomach. I wondered if she's pregnant.
"Let's go to the meeting room, shall we?" Princess Rekka said and Ren and Asaka agreed as they left the corridor.
"See you later, Aichi!" Ren waved his hand with a smile and followed his wife. I could only nod and wave back.
Sometimes I do wish that one day, it would be me and Kourin who will be expecting children. I could only hope for now.

I was outside the palace, walking around the town. The townspeople were greeting me, I would smile and wave at them.
I decided to go back to my old home to visit my mother and Emi. Though I usually go to visit them whenever I do my duty, I still miss them from time to time.
As I was on my way, I saw a man with long white hair and red eyes. He wore a white royal outfit with red and dark grey accents. His aura seems to be intimidating, despite him just sitting down near the riverfront. I stopped my tracks and just stood there, watching him.
I gripped the hold of my sword and gulped, he doesn't seem like he's from here at all. Maybe a traveling merchant? But no, he seems to be a royalty...
I was about to leave the area when all of a sudden, I heard him speak.
"You, Aichi from Royal Paladins." I jolted, glancing at him.
"G-greetings..." I spoke, stuttering. I still kept my guards up and held my sword tightly.
"You don't need to worry, I'm just a random person passing by." He said then stood up from the ground. I took a step back when he approached me, he was looking at me with his sharp red eyes.
"W-what is your business here in this nation?" I asked.
"I came to visit, I shouldn't tell strangers or else I might get killed." He said.
I seemed really suspicious of him, and yet he doesn't really seem to be that hostile. I just felt really intimidated by the way he looks at me.
"Aichi from the Royal Paladins, correct? Also, the Princess Kourin's consort." He spoke.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Ibuki, I came here to meet the king of this nation."
"I-Ibuki? D-don't tell me..." my eyes widened in surprise, is he who I think he is?
"Yeah, you can say that." Ibuki said with a sigh, he seemed annoyed. I could only look at him with shock, then he stared at me with an annoyed face and he clicked his tongue. "Come on, you don't have to be so shocked just because you saw me. Where's the location of the castle?"
"T-the... castle is up north... and uh... s-should I escort you there?" I asked shyly and just scratched the back of my head.
"No thanks." He said and I just nodded. Before I had to walk away, I heard him call my name. "Anyways, Prince Aichi. You better be careful, otherwise you'll find yourself in a dark and endless path."
"Eh? A-alright!" I was confused by what Ibuki just said to me. I let out a gulp and just nodded, even if it was quite unclear for me, it did feel like a warning. I guess I really must take care of myself, and everyone as well.
Ibuki then left and I watched as he went to the direction of the town to the castle. I then saw a carriage go past me and it stopped next to Ibuki, I saw Princess Suiko who appeared from the carriage and Ibuki then went in there.
I just observed as the carriage went away and I turned around to go to my clan's headquarters.
