Chapter 3
-

[3rd Person POV]

"Hahaha!" The king Takuto laughed as he listened to Aichi's story, causing the latter to sweat drop in awkwardness.

"The leader of the Kagero clan wanted to marry a goddess? That's… that's quite hilarious and bold of him!" Takuto commented, wiping his tears away from his laughing.

"Y-yes, exactly." Aichi also let out a chuckle. "So, I would like to help him try to get to the goddess's heart."

"For the love of Cray, I hope that he wouldn't get to the goddess's heart literally." Takuto replied. "Considering his personality, I doubt it would end up peacefully. He's the kind to sometimes resent to force."

Aichi only gave a nod, agreeing to the king. "I must take my leave now, I will go to Kai and help him."

"Take care, Aichi. Be careful not to make your wife jealous."

"Of course! I would never-"

"I know how loyal you can be, I was joking. You may leave."

Aichi bowed and left quickly, going to Kai's place.

-

As the blunette prince arrived, he was quickly greeted by Kai.

"Hello." Kai gave a slight smile at Aichi.

"Good morning, Kai."

Kai looked at the prince and sighed. "I apologize for the inconvenience but I really need to expand my romantic bond with the goddess Misaki. I need your help, how should I do it?"

"Uh…" Aichi scratched the back of his head, he wondered to himself for a few moments on how he courted the princess Kourin. He immediately thought yet he's unsure if the same results will happen to Kai and Misaki.

"Maybe you should be nice and romantic to her? Give her flowers and gifts, send her love letters and all. I think that would be nice." Aichi suggested.

"Cliché," Kai commented. "I can't believe the princess fell for that trick."

"Well, that's how I did it and she loved it!" The prince protested. "Why don't you try it for yourself and see how much you can make her love you!"

"Then… I'll do it." The Kagero leader replied, he then looked at Aichi and spoke. "So… what kind of gifts and love letters are they exactly?"

"Um, for the gifts I would give the princess what she likes. What does the goddess like, Kai?"

"Books."

"Then give her books-"

"She has tons."

"Oh."

Aichi scratched his head, not knowing what to think and say. He just watched as Kai struggled to think of something to give to the Goddess that he adores.

Suddenly, Kai's head perked up and his eyes gleamed. "I may just have the right idea." He beamed. "Aichi, help me."

"O-okay!" Aichi nodded as he agreed with Kai.

-

The two young men were walking on downtown United Sanctuary, they were looking around shops and other stalls. The dragon leader was carefully eyeing each and everything on sale, while the prince followed him.

It felt a little weird when the civilians found the two best friends walking together; since they saw the young prince who, whenever he's with royal guards, he's the one commanding and ordering. Yet it was the polar opposite on what's happening right now, the young prince is being ordered around.

"I've found it," the brunette said.

"Really?" Aichi looked at Kai.

Kai nodded and quickly ran to a store. Aichi realized what the store was and he was surprised; his jaw dropped seeing what Kai was doing.

-

Knock knock!

The goddess heard multiple knocks coming from her wooden door. Misaki's heart raced thinking that it could be him, Kai. Yet she immediately disregarded such thoughts.

Why would a goddess like her fall in love with a mortal like him?!

"You've fallen for me as well."

Those words kept on reading in her mind, and Misaki was afraid that what Kai had told her was true. But no, she's a goddess and why would she just fall for him easily?

She might just be attracted to his looks, as he is dubbed as the most handsome serious leader.

Yet Misaki thought it's not that. There could be something more, and Misaki was deep in thought.

Her interaction with him during the time she blessed the princess and the leader of the Royal Paladins. It could be that day.

When Kai had shown her his strength, she might've taken a liking to that. But then she somehow dislikes the way he talked to her; since he seemed like an absolute stuck up snob.

Knock knock!

Again, the knocking was heard. Misaki closed her book and let out a sigh, then she stood from her seat and opened the door.

There, the Kagero leader, Kai was kneeling down in front of her like a knight.

"O dear goddess M-Misaki… I, the leader of the Kagero clan has come here to give you a gift that I had p-promised." Kai spoke with an unusual stuttering speech.

"And what gift could that be?" Misaki asked, raising her eyebrows.

Kai then grabbed from a small weaved box and showed a creature; a feline… a cat.

"A cat? You intend to… to give me this?" Misaki blushed hard and took the cat who immediately acknowledged her and purred.

"Yes," Kai replied and stood up. "That cat is my gift for you, don't you like it?"

Misaki stared at the cat for so long that she didn't answer Kai's question.

"Goddess." Kai called, bring Misaki's attention back to him.

"Oh, I apologize. Yes, I-I like him." Misaki told him and Kai smiled slightly.

"That gave me a relief." He commented. "So is it alright now? Will this satisfy you? Will you become my consort?"

"Not so fast." Misaki quickly answered. "You haven't touched my heart a single bit, but this was a nice gift."

"Ah, I see."

"Thank you, Kai." Misaki replied. "I appreciate you giving me a cat, it was very nice of you."

"I would do anything to make you my beautiful and elegant consort, now I shall take my leave." Kai said.

"I will see you around, Kai." Misaki replied.

Kai bowed and turned to walk away. Misaki closed the door behind her and suddenly blushed hardly.

The cat let out a sound and Misaki glanced at it. "K-Kai… how did he know I love cats…" she mumbled as she petted her cat.

"A-anyways, I shall name you and give you my blessing." Misaki said and stared at the cat. "Shiki… your name is Shiki."

The cat seemed to like it and meowed, Misaki smiled looked at the window.

'Kai… you actually touched my heart. Keep it up.'

-

Kai was walking alone out of the forest, stomping his feet in anger.

"Tch, that cat had touched her heart more than I did." He mumbled. "I love cats but this is… unacceptable."

He groaned and continued to walk away. Kai then sighed and stared at the sky, he smiled to himself.

"I guess I'll just continue, I won't give up on this." He said. "For the goddess Misaki."
