Chapter 8

[3rd POV]

Aichi was standing at the balcony, he took a look on the garden from above. He saw Kourin with a wooden sword and was training. Aichi smiled to himself and watched her, he chuckled and continued to look after her.

Kourin was moving her sword perfectly, her dynamics and movements along with her body are truly an elegant way to look at. She stopped right after, panting and exhausted. Kourin looked around and found Aichi on the balcony, looking back at her with a sheepish grin. He looked like a lovestruck person as he was in a trance.

"Hey, Aichi!" She called and Aichi looked at her.

"Yes?" He replied in a singsong tone. Kourin face palmed at this.

"Come down here and spar with me!"

"Of course!"

As Aichi went to Kourin, he had his wooden sword ready. He then attacked Kourin but in one sweep of Kourin's foot, Aichi fell on the ground hitting his back.

"Ow!"

"That was to get you out of your trance, dear husband." Kourin told him with mockery.

"S-sorry!" The blunette let out a nervous laugh. He stood up and scratched the back of his head.

"Stop being lovestruck at this time, we may not know if someone is about to attack us, you know." Kourin scolded.

Aichi nodded and gave a bow, "Yes Princess!"

"And…" the blonde princess looked away as she pouted, a blush was present on her face. "You should be more aware… and protect me at times as well…" she muttered.

"Eh? You said something?" Aichi retorted.

Kourin shook her head as she continues to pout. "It's nothing, let's continue... And let your guards up, Aichi."

"Yes, my princess!"

[Kai's POV]

At the mansion of the Shadow Paladin leader, I found myself standing by the banquet as I waited for him; Ren. A good friend of mine, goofy and idiotic at times yet still a reliable one.

I turned to my left to see sorts of things such as paintings and statues, it was worth looking at. Then, I found another painting in which Ren's face was there. I scoffed as I looked back and turned to the grand staircase.

There I saw Ren walking down with joy, I don't know why but it somewhat irks me.

"Kai, hello there!" He approached me as he waved his hands and smiled widely.

"Hey."

The reason I went to this place is because of what happened with Aichi and Kourin, they were attacked by a deranged and obsessed person and as a friend I have to help.

"You said you want to help Aichi-kun by expanding the forces of the soldiers?" Ren asked.

"It's needed, and I've heard that the enemy isn't just a mere human being."

"You mean Morikawa? Don't worry about him! All we need to do is to defeat him!"

"If Aichi got defeated by him, that means he's dangerous." I replied. "That's why I need your help to defeat that guy, I can't just do it on my own."

Ren then nodded and crossed his arms, I'm pretty sure his mind thought of tactics that should be done to defeat the enemy.

"I see, then let's think about it."

As I was walking back to my Empire, I saw the goddess flying around at the sky. She seemed to be approaching me and I stood on the same spot I stopped.

"Goddess.."

"Kai, I have some news." She spoke as she landed in front of me. "The prince is fine now, but I found a mysterious dark aura coming from the northeast of Dragon Empire. You should be careful."

"I will," I replied and glanced around. "It seems that I cannot continue my courtship."

"Yes, there's something more important than that."

I gave a nod and watched her as she disappears in front of me. I sighed before going back to my place to order an army to go to northeast.

This might be an easy task but…

I don't think this will go well.
