Tennessee
A petite, older woman bends over a bundle of hay. Her hair is streaked with silver, its dark color beginning to retire. Sweat shines on her olive skin in the southern heat. A warm breeze ruffles the branches of the tall willow above her, animals bickering lazily in the background. She stands behind an old one-story house that's shedding blue shingles. The screens in its windows are torn in places, and its paint is chipping, but it's well-loved. The back door leads onto a small porch whose boards are warped and nails poke up periodically. They're going to start renovations tomorrow.
She takes a labored breath as she turns and sits on the hay.
"Annie?" She pants.
"Yes, love?" Answers a cheery voice from inside.
"Could you bring me a glass of that lemonade you made earlier?"
"Magic word, darling?" The voice asks, the owner's grin nearly audible.
She laughs softly to herself, shaking her head.
"Alright, please?"
The screen door opens with a creak, a taller dark-skinned woman emerging. One hand grips the clear handle of a crystal pitcher, the other carefully cradles two glasses. Thin slivers of lime and lemon bob up and down in the sweet drink as she makes her way down the porch steps. Ice clinks gently against the pitcher's side. Her black hair falls in shiny coils to her shoulders, curls bouncing as walks to her exhausted lover, sitting with her when she gets there.
"Here you are, Lucy my love." Annie teases as she hands the other woman a full glass.
"Thank you, darling." She smiles gratefully, kissing the woman next to her lovingly on the cheek, leaving a red lipstick stain behind.
Lucy's file at Hydra is a fairly new one, but it is extensive. I'll spare you the details. Here's what you need to know:

They sit together for a moment, enjoying each other's company, only to be interrupted by a thump from the barn. Lucy starts to stand, but Annie gently pushes her back down.
"Let me handle it." She says with a kiss. "You've already done more than enough."
Lucy does as told and Annie walks to investigate. A few minutes pass and she doesn't return.
"Honey?" Lucy calls. "Do you want help?"
There's no answer.
A twang of concern in her eyes, she stands, lemonade in hand. As the barn doors become larger so does the pit in her stomach.
"Anna?" She asks the door. Silence.
She pushes it open slowly. Inside the barn is midnight compared to the summer sun outside. Her eyes need to adjust.
"Sweetheart, you're scaring me, I-" She stops, seeing a figure standing in front of a heap of something, a yard or two ahead of her with their back turned. The figure appears to be dressed in all black, every inch of skin covered. She squints. "Is that you?"
