I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing. Opening my tired eyes I searched for my phone, finally locating it I looked at the caller identification,
"Why is he calling me?"
I answered the phone,
"Hello?" I groggily asked
"Hey" he chimed
"How are you so happy at eight in the morning?"
"One word...coffee"
I sat up in bed "do you realize you have two other kids to bug at this time not just me"
"Yeah but they live here you don't"
I heard a little bit of hurt in his voice. I'm guessing my brother moved back,
"Wait Austin moved back in...wasn't he living with what's her face?"
"They had an argument and he moved out he's now living with us"
"Oh" there was a pause "so what did you call for?"
"Oh! Your nominated for an award well Jake and you"
"Okay what is it?"
"Remember that song you and him made when we first started out"
"They Don't Know The Real Us...yes what about it?"
"Well the music video is nominated for Best Video Duet for the American Music Awards"
"That's incredible!!" I yelled making Jake wake up I gave him an apologetic look "it's sorta last minute"
"Yeah well I also have some more news...your performing at the AMAs and your lovely boyfriend is hosting"
My mouth completely dropped "NO WAY!!!!"
My father laughed through the phone "yup I got the news this morning from Chase words can't describe how proud we are of you"
"Thanks dad"
"But Bethany and I are going to watch Maria for you"
"She can't come with us?" I asked
"No sweetie she can't"
My heart completely dropped. I'm going to perform at the AMAs and my little girl won't be out there watching this is going to be hard. I love having Maria with me,
"Can you please find a way for us to take her"
"Payton I don't-"
"Pleeeaaasssee" I pleaded
"Alright Chase and I will work something out"
"Thanks daddy"
"Alright the limo will be outside your house at five-thirty so be ready"
"Got it love you"
"Love you too"
I hung up the phone and rolled over and on top of Jake straddling his waist,
"Let me guess an award show"
I nodded
"For what?" he asked
"The music video we made together is nominated for best video duet"
He smiled "no way"
"Yes way and guess what?! I'm performing!!"
