Chapter 89

I wake up to someone violently shaking me awake. I groan and push them off of me but they only shake me harder. 

"Ugh! What?!" I groan and sit up to find Tonks sitting at the edge of my bed. She's wearing a red and green printed onesie and has a huge smile plastered on her face. 

"Wake up lazy arse! It's Christmas!" She cheers, flinging the thick layer of sheets off me and pulling me out of bed.

"For a grown woman you're awfully excited."

"Hey hey hey. I'm twenty something that doesn't qualify me as a 'grown woman' yet." She dramatically pouts. "Last one to the living room's a rotten pumpkin pasty!" She then sprints out of my room, me following close behind her.

She beats me to the living room and does a victory dance around me. Juno makes his way downstairs, rubbing his eyes tiredly and yawning.

"It's 4 in the morning. Shut up." He says grumpily. 

"Now now Jun, is that anyway to talk to the girl that gives you the goods?" Tonks smirks, my eyes grow wide.

"Woah woah woah. I did not need to hear that!" I say fake gagging. 

"Oh, come on, like you didn't know-" Tonks starts but is cut off by Juno.

"-okay let's open presents." Juno says, rushing away from the conversation. Tonks smirks and sends me a knowing smile. We gather around the small wooden fireplace of their flat and pass around our gifts to each other. I gave Juno some rare chocolates he loves and I gave Tonks a gag gift, it's a book entitled 'How To Become an Aruror'.

"Ha ha very funny." She rolls her eyes as Juno snickers from the corner. 

"Here, Mills, this is for you." Juno hands me a small box with gold wrapping and a royal blue bow. I open it carefully to find a necklace in the shape of a crescent moon. There's a blue stone placed strategically in its core. 

"Thank you!"

"Of course!" They reply in unison. 

"Here, let me show you something." Tonks smile and delicately places the necklace around my neck. "When Juno and I went to Egypt we bought this off of a local witch. She said that it's bound to bring good luck to its wearer. With all danger surrounding Hogwarts recently, we thought you might be in need of it."

"That's awesome! Thank you so much!" I smile and give them both a hug.

"It may also be a bribe though..." Juno begins.

"Bribe for what?"

"For you to go spend the rest of the day with mum without any arguing." He responds quickly sending me a cheeky smile.

"No."

"Pleeeeeease."

"Absolutely not."

"Yes."

"No."

"Well, I'm sorry for pulling the authoritative figure card but, you're going and that's final." With that, his once playful expression morphs into one of sternness and finality.

"But Jun-"

"No, you're being immature about Mum and insensitive about her boyfriend. You've only met once and you judged him too quickly."

"But I-"

"I met up with Corban and he and Mum are happy together. I don't see why you don't like him. Maybe it's because you feel bad for dad. Maybe it's because you still hold a grudge against mum. But he is a good guy, and he makes mum happy."
