"You ready to crush Woody's arse?" I ask Seiko as I lace up my boots and prepare to go to the quidditch pitch.
"E, we're playing Ravenclaw. We're not even playing him." she responds, rolling her eyes.
"Yes but if we win it means that we're good and he's not" I reply.
"I'm with E on this one. You guys have to win." Marissa chimes in, badger earrings swaying.
"Why's that? You never care about quidditch" Seiko asks her.
"First of all, that's not true. I like it because you two do. And second of all, Roger is on the team and we need to crush him." she responds, looking very passionate now.
"Your cousin Roger?" I ask.
"That's the one"
"What position does he play?"
"Chaser"
"Oh he's going down" I say, smirking.
"Let's go" Seiko says, her broom in her hand. I finally bought myself a nice broom and I grab it now. I also remember to grab the gloves Cedric gave me for my birthday. I've been using them in practice and they're brilliant. Irma was practically giddy when I pulled them out. She wants to get a pair for Malcolm and Heidi to use as well.
"Okay I'm ready" I say, and head out the door. We run into Cedric on our way down the stairs and he joins us.
"You'd better catch the snitch today Diggory" Marissa tells him. He gives me a look as if to say 'what's her deal?'
"Family rivalry" I whisper to him.
"Ah okay"
"You reckon we'll win? Ravenclaw has already beat slytherin and gryffindor. Though it probably wasn't that hard to beat Wood" I ask him. He chuckles.
"I dunno. They're definitely a good team but they don't have a strong seeker, like me." He says, and winks at me. "All of their scoring has come from their chasers. And lucky for us, we have an excellent keeper"
"I know we do" Seiko deadpans. I burst out laughing and so does Cedric. Before I know it, we're in the locker room.
"Alright team. Ravenclaw is a force to be reckoned with. Their keeper is excellent and their chasers are good at scoring. Liu, you need to be on guard at all times today. Always stay posted in front of the middle hoop. Only move if someone is shooting. Got it?" Irma asks. Seiko nods vigorously. She won't say it but I know that Irma kind of scares her.
"Now Malfoy. Knock them off of their bloody brooms. Quidditch isn't a pretty game. They'll be fine. I'll be doing the same." Hydra gives a curt nod and Irma turns to me, Heidi, and Malcolm now. I stiffen though I already knew it was coming.
"Chasers, just score. Don't get hit by bludgers and work together. Though you three are excellent at that. But score. You can't miss any shots. And Rosewood, wear those gloves." She says and then finally turns to Cedric. He gulps. He's tall but she's probably a foot taller than him.
"Catch the damn snitch Diggoy. That's literally your only job."
"Aye aye captain" he responds. Heidi and I bust out laughing and Malcolm joins in. It'll be odd when they graduate. I've still got a couple years.
"Let's go get 'em puffs!" Irma shouts and we all march out of the locker room. I see Wood walking near us so I jog up a bit to catch him. Rattling him before a game is just what I need.
