chapter 11- pierre ryn weaver

The sun was pale as it rose. I knew it was freezing out and way too early to be this functional but I had things to do today. Ashton had just gone and put our mugs away and I was sitting on the back porch. Goosebumps ran across my arms as I raised my phone to make a call.

"Hi Calum," My voice was smooth and peppy. I sounded way too happy, and needed to tone it down.

"Adwin? It's like 6 in the morning," He sounded like he just woke up. Voice was rough and scratchy but he didn't sound mad.

"I know, it's really pretty outside right now," I twisted a curl in my fingers.

His laugh was low but I could feel his smile from here, "Okay but why are you calling me at 6 in the morning on a saturday?"

"Do you wanna go shopping with me? Mali said we need some new pieces for in the studio,"

It got really quiet and my palms started to sweat. I probably should've considered not everyone wants to spend their Saturdays with girls they hardly know.

"I mean you don't have to of course, won't be offended if you say no,"

Some shuffling could be heard on the other end. And a soft buzzing too?

"S-orry, was putting my shoes on. Brushing my teeth now. Be there in ten."

My cheeks ached from smiling, "See you soon,"

"Use protection!" Ashton chimed from the stairs as I walked toward the door.

"Shut the fuck up,"

"Adwin."

I didn't consider my mother sitting at the bar as I replied. Slinging my bag over my shoulder I shrugged.

"Sorry,"

I was wearing black flare-type yoga pants and an oversized t-shirt. My chunky acrylic rings clinked on my fingers as I slid on my white vans. The low rumble that I've come to recognize as Cal's jeep sounded from outside and I took the buzzing from my phone as another signal of his arrival.

"Alright ma, ash," I quickened my pace to the front door. My hands were steady but my heart was beating erratically. My palm wrapped around the doorknob. I turned back to look at my mom.

"I'll eat out with Calum,"

We stared at each other from across the threshold and she kinda raised her eyebrows. With her eyes she was dissecting me. Deciding whether or not she could trust me. Intensely she studied for a few more seconds and I swear beads of sweat were beginning to form on my skin.

"Okay."

Looking away from me she took a sip from her coffee. I let go of the breath I was holding and began twisting the knob open.

"I like that boy,"

It hadn't gotten warmer out since I called Calum twenty minutes ago but the heat was on full blast when I climbed into his car. All my love by led zeppelin was playing from the speakers and it just seemed so fitting. This wasn't the first time All my love was the song playing in Calums car. Sometimes it'd accidentally play during class because his phone was no longer connected to the bluetooth.

"Good morning Tommy,"

"Morning Adwin, got'chu a coffee,"

Sure enough in the cup holder two iced coffees sat one in front of the other.

"Caramel syrup and drizzle all the things you like,"

I looked over at him as I clicked in my seatbelt.
