Third
Off always feel lonely. He has a friends who cares about him, who never left his side so why does he still feel lonely? He didn't know.
He hates it when he feel like he is the loneliest person in the world. He hates when he feel like no one knew what is on his mind. He hates the feeling of he was the only one who was hurting this much.
Off felt like an outcast. He always wants to be alone but doesn't want to be feel lonely at the same. He's like a lonely soul who is seeking for someone to see him. To tell him he wasn't alone. To stay by his side whenever the darkness is taking over him. He wanted to be found.
And now he doesn't know how to react to the younger in front of him. His heart never beat this fast before. He doesn't know if it's because of nervousness or there is another reason. He didn't know. It's an unknown feeling he never felt before.
"It's heavy, it's suffocating, it's painful"
Off can feel his strength leaving him as the younger started to explain what exactly he's been feeling. The feelings that was hard to explain was being explained by the younger.
"Why do we live?" Gun asked him making him hold his breath for awhile. That familiar question felt different now that someone is asking him the question he keeps asking on himself.
The pain keeps gathering in his heart making it feel heavy and painful but there's no tears left in his eyes. He reached the point where he's not crying anymore.
"What's the reason why you live, Gun?" He was surprised by his own question. Gun looked up and smiled. Off watches him.
"Reason why I live?" Gun spoke as he lift his hand, like trying to touch the stars. "I live to enjoy my remaining time and be happy as much as possible. I live to keep trying to survive"
It was a moment of silent. Off had a question but he doesn't want to ask it.
Isn't it tiring when you wake up everyday just to survive? Then there's another obstacle that you needed to survive. We really don't have a choice but to try to survive, do we?
Off sigh and decided to just looked up at the sky and watches the stars shine.
He started to ask himself the same question as Gun's. Off already stopped trying to survive long ago. He just can't find a reason to keep on trying. Except for his friends. He got tired and eventually gave up.
He thinks Gun might have a lot of reason to survive. There might be a lot of people cheering him up. His family and probably a lot of friends. Off will be really surprise if the younger told him he doesn't have a lot of friends.
He will never believe him if ever. Off knows Gun is good at making friends. The way he made friends with the doctors and nurses and him. Gun probably have more friends that is confined here in the hospital or even outside.
"No one will really understand what we've been through but ourselves" Gun spoke again. Off nodded as he agreed.
"But those people who cares for us, the people who doesn't want us to leave can be the reason why we live. Seeing them cheering you up and helps you to survive while trying their best to make you happy is worth it reason for trying to survive..."
"Isn't it painful when the people who cares for you in this big world cries because they don't want to lose you?"
Off didn't say anything as his friends popped on his head. Arm, Singto and Tay.
He can't remember when but Tay once begged him to stop hurting himself. He was crying that night while hugging Off who tried to hurt himself again.
He remembers how his friend is crying. Sobbing while hugging and begging him. He remember how his friend's body slightly shaking and the desperation in his hug and voice.
Off looked at Gun who stood, removing the dust on his butt. He offer his hand to Off as he smiled at him.
"Let's go. It's getting late now" he said and helps Off to stand.
It was harder to support Off as they are going down. It was even harder because Off is taller than the Gun who was helping him.
But they eventually reached the last step.
"Wait for me here" Gun whisphered as he walked at the dark corner to get the wheelchair.
He again helps Off to sit down and began to carefully push him. His footsteps are also careful, not wanting to make any noise. They entered the elevator.
It was silent. A comfortable silent for Off. But he still praying that no one will caught them.
The door opened and Gun immediately looked outside of the elevator, he lookes at his left and right side before pushing Off.
Gun almost run just to reached at Off's room faster. He was about to turn the door knob when they heard someone behind them, clearing his throat.
"We're dead" Off heard Gun whisphered. Off looked around with Gun and they saw Dr. Scoops with his hands inside of his hospital gown, looking at the both of them.
"Where did you go?" He asked. Gun smiled at him and chuckled nervously.
"Come on, Phi. We just wanted to relax before we go to sleep" Gun said. Dr. Scoops sigh.
"Gun, how many times have I told you the rules-"
"I know the rules, Phi. But Me and P'Off really can't sleep and we decided to take a walk" Gun cuts his words.
"Still-"
"But we are sleepy now, Phi. We needed to rest now. Goodnight" Gun bid his goodbye before opening Off's door and pushing him inside.
"That wasn't your room, Gun" Dr. Scoops said again. Gun smiled at him.
"I know, Phi. I will just help him and rest now" he said before pushing Dr. Scoops forward. Dr. Scoops can't do anything but to let Gun do whatever he wants.
Gun entered Off's room and helps him to lay on his bed. He also brings the blanket up to his chest. Gun smiled at him. Dr. Scoops kept his distance and just watch the two of them finished their business before checking Off as he should.
"Goodnight" Off said as he smile. Gun also smiled at him as he gently holds his left arm and lift it.
Off was surprised to see that Gun is lifting his hand that is wounded by cuts he made.
"Don't hurt yourself again, please"
