The girls all stared as me as I tried to angrily put my earring in my ear, finally I gave up once It fell. "ugh, why won't this stupid thing go in?" I mumbled and tried putting the earring in again. It had been exactly a week and now it was Javaria's Mayoun.

A mayoun comes second after the dholki, a Mayoun is when the bride and groom (in this case Javaria and Aabid) are not allowed to talk or see each other until there mehndi, everyone wears Yellow and we put's Uptan on Javaria's face. Then, she stay's home until the Mehndi because we dont want people to give her nazr (bad intentions).

Soojin get's up and put's the earring in for me, I weakly smiled at her and sighed looking at my dress that I had bought myself.

My aunt had also stopped giving me money all because I stole Javaria's "thunder" In my defense, everyone was focused on Javaria it was just about 7 aunties who "cared" about my father

My aunt had also stopped giving me money all because I stole Javaria's "thunder" In my defense, everyone was focused on Javaria it was just about 7 aunties who "cared" about my father. Anyway, my uncle gave me some money and I felt guilty so I bought the cheapest dress at the store that looked expensive at the same time.

I gave him the remaining money back but he insisted I keep it, so now I'm saving up for some more dresses for the rest of the wedding.

"We look good." The girls all said checking out there dresses, we were all of course wearing yellow because of the Mayoun. I nodded and we headed downstairs. I wasn't in the mood but if I skipped everyone would be talking about me and poor Javaria will be crushed.

I don't think anyone realized that I simply did not care. The only reason I went to these things was because 1. I lived here and 2 the food was good. My aunt didn't make me cook and instead hired top chef's so I dont know what the food taste's like before hand making it a complete mystery for me, and I loved mystery's.

What I did know was that there were Jalabi and if wherever there are Jalabi there's me. Once I was downstairs I ignored the decorations since I put them up myself and instead searched for the Jalabi plate. I frowned when I didn't see them and frowned harder once I saw the plate in Roofa's hand.

"UGH are you kidding me?? that Moti Sand couldn't keep any for me???" The girls laughed as I angrily made my way too her suddenly I stopped and looked at my aunt who was silently glaring at me.

I sighed and said "Hi Roofa." She turned to me and scowled "What?" she said greedily biting into a jalebi. "Can I have one? your kind of hogging the plate." The aunties around me stiffled there laugh while I sweetly smiled at her. She blushed and handed them to me "Thank you."

I put the plate down on the table and grabbed one jalebi, there is no doubt that if your south Asian that you have sugar. Actually, there can be a 100% chance you had sugar that's why I only ate one jalebi.

Slowly all the guests gave Javaria money as we did our rusom, which is to basically put uptan on Javaria's face.

We put that on the bride's face so she can become you guessed it white

We put that on the bride's face so she can become you guessed it white. You can normally put it on your face too but I don't know this tradition started a long time ago, you can skip this part but it's common to do it now so everyone is doing it.

I put on a smile on my face as I sat next to Javaria ready to put uptan on her face, suddenly I heard a whisper saying "Too bad your parent's aren't here too see you." I looked up at a smirking Javaria.

I scowled and took all the uptan putting the whole plate in her face, everyone around me quietly whispered noticing I put way too much. A fuming Javaria looked to me while I smirked and said "Hopefully now some beauty will come on to your face."

Asad Qureshi's POV

"Mom, me and Aabid are 3rd cousins we aren't even close why would I go to his wedding?" the boy's around me quietly mumbled as they tried to listen to my conversation with my mom. "Asad, you are cousins whither it is 3rd or 4th you are coming and that's final!" And then she cut the call.

I grumbled as I put my phone back In my pocket. Me and Aabid are 3rd cousins and we never got along, in fact he was the reason that... I shook my head told myself not to think about it. I heard a ping and checked my phone to see a picture of a girl that in my taste looked awful.

Under the picture was a message from my mom:

Mama bear- This is Aabid's wife, mashallah isn't she pretty? her name is Javaria!

I smirked, a awful woman for a awful man. I sent her a message back saying "Yes" I was about to close my phone when I noticed something in the background. I raised an eyebrow and zoomed into the picture.

Asad-Mom, who's that in the background?

My mom looked at my message and took hours replying back, I had too know.

Mama Bear- Oh, Aabid mentioned her. That's Rayyana Arshad she's Javaria's cousin. She didn't talk much when Aabid came to there house. Why?

I smiled at the name

Rayyana Arshad

Asad- No reason, on second thought I'll come to the wedding.

Mama Bear-Really? Ya ALLAH thank you

I smiled as I put my phone away making the guys around me raise an eyebrow at my behavior.
