Rayyana's POV
I stared at the operation sign that was glowing red. I prayed Asr namaz and I have been praying ever since that Sabha and her dad both would come out fine. Maha and her mom stood there, Maha was worried while her mom was sitting down scrolling on her phone unbothered.
Asad's arms were wrapped around me, and right now we were putting our hate for each other aside. Right now, he was acting like that husband I had always dreamed of having.
"It's going to be okay, inshallah she will come out fine." I just nodded and sniffled into his shirt. It was white and I was worried that I might get my nose on him, but I didn't thankfully.
We sat around and stood there for about 3 hours before finally Doctor Ben came out, he sighed and wiped his forehead. Amir was the first to run up t him "How's Sabha?" Doctor Ben smiled at him "It was a success, they are both resting but the organ is working perfectly."
We all sighed in relief and the girls and I hugged one another thanking ALLAH.
"Guys, I said I'm doing fine." Sabha said sitting up in her bed, she had a croaky voice and her hands were shaking but overall she was great. We all talked over each other making sure she wasn't joking but she actually was fine.
Next, we all went to Mr. Ali's room, he looked much fresher then before. Maha's mom was on her phone while Maha was beside him asking him if he was okay or if he needed anything. I ignored Maha's mom and instead also focused on Mr. Ali.
"You.. are Rayyana?" he asked me, I nodded at him. It had been a few years since we had seen each other, the last time was when I had moved here. "You convinced my daughter to save me... thank you." He looked down "I know I haven't... been the best but I.. I miss Hamza and Sonia."
That got Maha's mom's attention "aunty misses you to uncle, she say's she can't live much without you." Uncle opened his mouth to say something but he got interrupted.
"Of course she said that, she is obviously joking." We all stared at her not saying anything, even Maha. "Uh.. yeah." we all said.
There was a knock on the door and soon there was a bed in uncle's room with Sabha rested on it. Uncle's eyes started watering and he smiled at Sabha who was turning pale "Thank you Sabha, I am so sorry for what I have done."
Sabha looked at him "Just because I gave you my organ doesn't mean we forgive you Mr. Ali." Uncle frowned at Sabha calling him Mr. Ali. She sighed and looked up at the ceiling "I'm going back to Pakistan and getting married soon, just... letting you know."
It was obvious that she wanted her dad to show up, after all there was still a chance he could walk her down the aisle. Unlike me... "Oh? Who's the lucky man?" Amir coughed and stepped forward "Me sir." Uncle looked him up and down.
"He's a nice man." He smiled at Amir who was lightly blushing. You know in 18 year's of me living not once had I ever seen a man blush. Looking at a man blush now felt... odd.
Odd but cute.
"Okay, we should let the patient's rest now. It will take 3-6 weeks so come visit often." Doctor Ben said rolling Sabha's bed out of uncle's room.
We all said okay and prayed to ALLAH that Mr. Ali and Sabha would get better soon.
I sighed and flopped down on my bed. I put my hand on tp of my forehead feeling super tired, I felt some movement and looked up to see Asad looking through the drawers. We haven't said a word ever since the hospital.
By this point it's a habit, we have a moment and we completely gloss over it. I was getting sick and tired of this little charade and wanted out. "What are you looking for?" I asked Asad getting p and fixing my Hijab.
"Nothing." He mumbled still fumbling around. "Asad." he turned to look at me "What are you looking for?" He sighed and mumbled back a "I'm looking for my tie." I brushed past him and opened the drawer right in front of him "What color?" He looked at them all and picked out a blue one.
He then went to the full size mirror and started fumbling with it there until he let our a frusterated sigh. He looked at his watch and fixed his tie at the same time giving me a headache, I took a step ladder and placed it in front of Asad climbing onto it.
"Face me." I said and he faced me with a raised eyebrow, I took out my phone and opened Pinterest. I had saved "how to tie a tie" years ago and now I was finally able to use it. I looked back at the phone and the tie concentrating on the tie making sure it didn't look bad on Asad.
I ignored the sharp glaze he gave me and finally finished. I got off the ladder and took a look, it was slightly crooked so I got back up and fixed it. Still on the ladder I looked at the tie and finally it was all done.
"Okay, all done." I looked up at Asad and we made eye contact, to my dismay he didn't break it so I didn't either. My eyes involuntarily went to his lips and I blushed remembering that little peck he had given me.
"Thanks." He whispered also staring at my lips, I nodded and stepped off the ladder ruining the moment. Asad blinked and walked to the mirror checking the tie. "Uh.. w-where are you going?" I ask him, he checks his teeth and then says "I have a match in a day and there have been some meetings I have missed because of you, this one is super important so I'm going to this one."
I nodded at him while he mumbled a "bye" and left. I took a deep breath and willed myself to calm down.
"WHAT?" I yelled at Asad's mad face, he nodded and said "I don't know okay? they just said they were coming!" Asad and I were arguing because some old friend's of his were coming from out of town to stay with us for a couple of days.
Apparently, there house had burn down and no one else was keeping them. I sighed and said "Okay... what do we do about the bed?" Asad gulped and said "I guess we have too... share it." Share it? with the man who's threatening me? "No need, you can sleep on the floor."
Asad scowled "Why me?!" He almost growled (what does that even mean?) "Because Asad, your not the one being threatened in this relationship!"
He smirked at me suddenly and before I knew it we were face to face. "Is that the only reason you don't want to share a room? or is it because.." I gasped as his arm snaked around my waist and pulled me closer.
'Is it because I make you...nervous?" I was struggling to breath, I finally managed to whisper out a "No." He smirked harder and every breath we took his face inched closer to mine.
Soon, his lips were on mine and this time it wasn't a peck it was a full out kiss
My first kiss!
His grip on my waist tightened as the kiss got deeper and deeper. Finally, Asad pulled away both of us breathing heavily. I pushed him and wiped my mouth blushing "What was that for?!" I yelled at him.
He shrugged "Just showing you what you have to do when the guest's are her." And then he walked away.
