I closed the front door behind me and started to walk upstairs to my room. " And were do you think you're going? ". I jumped. That voice belonged to my mother. " Why aren't you in school? " she asked while making her way over to me. " I couldn't do it. " I said quietly. My mom knew how close me and Hannah were. Since Hannah's first day we became best friends. " I know Hannah's death took hard on you but next time call me so you don't have to skip school " she said putting a weak smile on her face. I nodded and ran upstairs and knocked on Clay's door. " Go away! " he said. I rolled my eyes and walked in.
Clay sat on his bed watching a movie on his laptop and ate ice cream. " I said go away! " he said once again. I AGAIN rolled my eyes at him and sat on the floor and took a deep breath. " You okay? " he asked confused. " Does it look like it to you, Clay? " I snapped. " I heard whispers about me because i'm Hannah Baker's best friend! I nearly collapsed to the floor but thankfully Monty caught me just in time! So do it look like I'm okay to you now? " I cried out before getting up and ran into my room.
