Chapter 12

Lexi's POV

he showed us to the kitchen where i set down my brownies. right when i set them down someone grabbed my arm and dragged me outside.

cam- " why are you ignoring me?!" he said letting go of my arm.

me- " i'm not!" i said turning to walk away but he grabbed me again.

cam- " really?! come on. just tell me! you're hurting i know you are just tell me!!" he pleaded. this time not letting my arm go so i couldn't go anywhere.

me- " it's nothing , honestly i'm fine!" i said fake smiling.

cam- " uh, no you're not! yesterday when i asked about a boyfriend, thats where it all started. start with that what happened?!"

me- " uhh, well. i..." i paused.

cam- " it's okay, take your time.!" he said bringing me over to their lawn chairs. i sat down and he brought on and sat right in front of me.

i took a deep breathe.

me- " my old boyfriend from last year, we dated for 14 months. it was good, i mean amazing for the first 10 months, but then i don't know what happened. i don't know what i did. he just came very mean and ignorant. i thought it was my fault. he would get really mad and take it out on me and sometimes he...he would hit me and i just let it go because i didn't want to lose him, but then my brother found out and made me dump him and...." a tear fell from my eye.

i didn't realize it but cam had his hand on my knees. he rubbed it back and forth.

cam- " and ever since that you don't want it to happen so you don't let any guy get that close to you!" i said sympathicly

i just nodded and covered my face. he just rubbed my knee. he grabbed my wrists and pulled me up from my chair and imbraced me in the tightest hug ever. it felt so nice. he just rubbed my back and whispered in my ear " it's okay, i will never let any one do that to you again! i promise!"

after what felt like forever i losened my grip and so did he. we looked at each other in the eyes.

me- " thank you!" i said barely above a whisper.

he just smiled and gave me one more hug.

me- " i'm going to go for a walk by myself if that's okay?"

cam- " of course!" i headed toward the sand and went over to the rocks and sat to just think.

i didn't realize how long i was gone until i got a call. it was an unknown number. i answered:

me- " hello ?"
voice- " dinner is ready, you okay?"
oh it's just cam! but how did he get my number?
me- " oh, um yeah i'll start walking back. thanks bye"

i got inside and everyone was lined up getting food. Cam was last and handed me my plate. we were having pulled pork sandwhiches with angel hair pasta and salad. it was so good!

we were all done and cam asked if i wanted to watch tv so we went into the basement. we were sitting on our phones then i remembered;

me- " how did you call me earlier? how'd you have my number?"

cam- " oh your mom gave all of us your guys numbers and we did the same, for like emergencies or stuff like that !"

i just nodded. figured.

it was about 9:30pm when i decided to leave.

me- " so im gonna get going, i have volleyball in the morning!" i said getting up.

cam- " okay, don't you get up at like 5am?"

me- " yeah... thanks for talking tonight it helped a little"

cam- " a little? what else is wrong?"

me- " well, it's nothing really just the pic you put on twitter, all the comments and everything i was reading.."

cam- " oh my gosh, i'm so sorry i shouldn't have posted that i knew that would happen! i'm sorry! "

me- " it's fine! really!! " he got up and gave me a hug. " good night!"

cam- " good night! and hey! don't believe they're just jealous!" he winked.

i just laughed and made my way upstairs.

me- " mom i'm going to go home i have volleyball. goodnight!"

mom- " goodnight sweetie!" she said getting up to hug me.

me- " thank you for dinner Mrs. Dallas it was really good!"

mrs.dallas- " oh you're welcome! goodnight! and called me Gina!"

i left and walked home
