Geoffrey loved watching Caroline interact with her sister. In the two days since her arrival, the two girls had been in constant giddy conversation, sometimes with him and sometimes without. It didn't bother him at all, because if he had a sister as wonderful as Caroline he would want to spend time with her after she married too

"I think Belinda will eventually marry one day," Caroline said one evening while brushing out her hair.

Geoffrey sat on the bed, his nose deep in a book, "You do?"

"Yes." Caroline put her brush down and made her way to join him in bed, "The more she talks about not wanting to marry, the more it sounds like she truly does. Something is stopping her. I just don't know what it is yet."

"I'm sure she'll figure it out" He replied nonchalantly.

"She goes home on Saturday" Geoffrey answered

"I know, I am running out of time." She pulled herself into the covers, "Do you have any idea as to why?"

He had to think about it for a second, but he couldn't come up with some plausible reason. Belinda was an enigma. Without a good enough reason, Geoffrey went with a joke, "Maybe she's over wrought with guilt that she didn't marry me?"

He watched Caroline's mouth drop, "You don't mean that"

He kissed his wife on the cheek, put down his book and blew out the light, "No I don't,"
