Saturday came too quickly for Caroline. She had been unable to figure out Belinda's situation, and now watched her elder sister drive away. A tear fell down her cheek as her sister got further away. She couldn't necessarily figure out if it was from pure separation or frustration, but the tears continued in a slow, constant rhythm.

"Are you alright?" Geoffrey took her hand and squeezed it.

"I' never got to figure out what bothered her." Caroline answered, "And of course I will miss her"

"I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough. You're a smart woman." Geoffrey attempted to reassure her, "and I'd be happy to have her over again."

Once the carriage was out of sight, Caroline and Geoffrey returned inside. The house felt all the more empty without Belinda, and Caroline felt herself feeling all the more lonely. Her tears kept falling, and each one made her feel more guilty. She didn't want Geoffrey to think she didn't like living with him- that was far from the truth. But three people gave a house much more welcomed chaos and comfort.

"It's rather quiet without, Belinda" Geoffrey seemed to read her mind, "I don't think I ever realized how quiet the two of us were together."

"Quiet isn't necessarily bad," Caroline replied, rubbing a tear from her eyes, "it just takes a few moments to get used to it again."

"We should travel" Geoffrey said, "take in our quiet around the world. See how others enjoy the quiet."

Caroline nodded, "Traveling would be nice- while we still have the time."

"Well my love, where should we go? The world is ours to explore." Geoffrey replied

"France" Caroline had never answered a question so quickly in her life.

"Do you speak the language?" Geoffrey asked

"Moderately well. I had a tutor when I was younger." Caroline thought fondly of those days.

"Then France we shall go. Perhaps we shall run into Savant's family"

"Goodness, I hope not" Caroline shuddered, "Such a crude man"

"I thought you tended to avoid talking negatively of others?" Geoffrey raised an eyebrow.

Caroline felt herself become flushed, "One can speak truthfully to the one they love. Especially if they also are their best friend"

Geoffrey smiled, "Am I really your best friend?"

Caroline smiled, "Of course you are, I wouldn't have married you if you were not."

Geoffrey took Caroline in and kissed her, "Well Caroline Bassett Wyatt, you're my best friend."
