Love, ♥Baltimore♥
To everyone, today was Perry's birthday. To me, it was day one since the kiss with Aiden. I could be an artifact in the museum right now, this was history.
I pranced out of bed, feeling like an utterly contrasting person to the Raine Addo 13hours ago prior to the kiss from Aiden! My nose and eyes were crinkling from the grin plastered on my face.
"Raine!" Max hollered and I headed to the living room.
I came down to him and one of Max's friends; I could recognise had been at the funeral. They were moving boxes of alcoholic drinks into Max's car boot.
How did I not know we had so much alcohol in this house? And when did this guy arrive, was it not like 5am?
"What's going on?"
"We're going to Perry's place this morning," Max responded.
My heart rhythm disrupted.
Did Max just say that I was coming face to face with the guy who kissed me and made my attraction towards him escalate to a whole different level? Yep, he most definitely did.
I checked the time. The cake I had ordered for Perry should be here in an hour. I redirected the location to Perry's house.
I gestured towards the drinks. "What's going on?"
"Little Max," his friend put his hand around my shoulder, "just a little something at the resort this night. Alcohol. Girls. Food. More girls. Lots of girl-" Max smacked his chest and I chuckled.
I spent time agonizing over what I was going to wear. And every outfit I picked out, had me ideating Aiden's impressions. Would he smile if he saw me in this, or would he regret kissing me?
To Max, their piece of mischief was so delicate that, a slight delay in time was going to ruin it. But did he know the world would come to an end if I didn't look good?
In the fullness of time, I joined them in the car and we began to make headway to Perry's house.
"Where's Sharon? Is she coming?"
Max shook his head, focusing on the road. "We got into a fight."
"You deserve it, but she doesn't deserve to miss out," I reached for his phone and he tried to stop me, but with his hands on the steering wheel, I had control. I texted her, anyways.
We arrived at the house. And guess who opened the front door?
Not Aiden!
It was Perry's mum. I had never been this disappointed to see her. She was so happy to have us, and the gleam in her eyes made me feel bad instantly.
She tolerated the uproar escorted into her home, the boys yelling, "Yo! Birthday dude!" as they rushed to Perry's room. I envisaged the noise knocking Aiden up, but his door didn't budge.
We got to Perry's room, and I enjoyed the moment as the boys threw him off his bed and romped punches on him. And the image reminded me of my little brother immediately, I shook it off.
And when the door flew open to reveal a groggy looking Aiden, I felt every cell in my body pass out in shock.
His eyes were sleepy. His hair in a mess. His lips twitched in a smile. And the gleam in his eyes when they settled on me.
