My duffel bag weighed me down a bit as I progressed steadily towards Petra's room, cautiously walking on my toes so I could sneak in and surprise them.
Max had dropped me off seconds ago, not before giving me an endless list of precepts. He didn't like that I was going to be away, but he'd rather I went than have a tiresome argument with him.
Nonetheless, he didn't forget to jog my memory on the reconstruction that would commence as soon as I was back. How was I supposed to have fun if I had to think of what was going to happen right after it?
I cringed discretely as the scene from the first time I had met Aiden, Leg-Boy then, rerun through my head. What had been going through his head then? And more importantly, what went through my head picking out THAT outfit?!
I heard loud squeals, and looked up only to find my girls.
Shoot!
They threw themselves at me instantaneously. In between hysterics, we went flying down to the ground and toppling on each other. It took us seconds before getting back up.
"I know this hoodie doesn't belong to you. I know!"
Yeah? So, I might have decided to wear the hoodie I had gotten from Aiden the other day.
"Are you going to start explaining what happened between you and Aiden?" the girls pestered.
"Nothing," I plopped myself onto Petra's bed as they joined me, urging me for more details.
"Then why are you in an oversized Play Station hoodie? Did you guys-"
"He gave it to me!" I simply stated.
They stared at each other before squealing in excitement.
"Did he pop your cherry?" Petra asked almost the same time as Sesinam.
"A woman's body should never be objectified", Lois interjected almost giving us a lecture. "Never refer the human anatomy to a fruit or anything."
As usual, her correction was disregarded.
"I just met him, why would I do that?" I defended.
"Albert Einstein once said, 'The Earlier, The Better'." Petra burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter at Sesinam's remark, whiles exchanging a high-five with her.
"He never said that." Lois deadpanned, ceasing the deliberate moment.
The girls had been busy with personal things of their own, so apart from Petra, none of them really knew everything that had happened over the two weeks. I filled them in.
"I still ship you and Derrick," Petra expressed.
"I think I would prefer Aiden. He's sweet," Lois rejoined.
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket." Sesinam voiced.
"Well, Aiden doesn't even like me like that. Plus, I would need to first work on myself. Else I'll be entering a rebound relationship, except this isn't over a break up with an ex-boyfriend, but rather over the loss of my... You know."
Sesinam comforted, rubbing my shoulder. This was the first time I was being open about my families death. Before today, it had been an unspoken language.
Petra snapped. "She's here to get over it, not to relive it."
"Yes! Yes!" Sesinam sang. "Now let's go over the plan. You know who would be driving us right?"
"Who?"
"Didn't Petra tell you?"
I shook my head.
